Model 559 Nickel

On my way back from seeing an old friend in Central TX, I stopped at a small gunshop where I had seen a previously mentioned model 46, wanting to see if they had come down on price yet. Two weeks ago there was also a Model 559 in nickel with box and everything, pristine as all get out but with a price tag of $849. Probably one of the most striking pistols I have seen. Today, missing. I mentioned it to the owner and he said, " Yeah, when the owner called in and told me to put a $550 price tag on it, it sold within a day. He just wanted to move it."
I had offered to move it for six and a half 2 weeks ago! Sometimes it ain't your day.

Those all steel models are not very common and I have never seen one in nickel.
Did it have the big rear site or small one?

I don't remember noticing. Probably because the glare off of the shiny nickel had me blinded. Seems I read only 10% or so were nickel.

Perhaps there comes a 2nd chance to get one of these nice pistols...

I thought 559's were pretty common? You see them often on the auction sites.

I see a lot of 59's, 459's, and 659's. Rarely see a 559. Especially in nickel.

That is tough luck. The fact that the owner ended up screwing himself out of an extra c-note provides little comfort. There will be other opportunities so hang in there.
