    Replacement grips Model 41

+1 on the Herrett Flat Trainer grips. I have them on both of my 41s and love them. You can get them here: S&W Model 41 Herrett Flat Housing Trainers :: Target Grips :: Bullseye Gear or here: Match Grade barrels, triggers, etc. for Accurizing your Ruger MkI, MkII, MkIII, 22/45 S&W 41 from...

    Dry firing Mod 41 & 22A

The other side of the OP's question: Is it hard on a 41's hammer spring to leave it cocked all the time in lieu of dry-firing?

It's Happened Here In New York 01/15/13

The 7 round limit will be a nightmare to administer and enforce, especially if we end up with a 10 round federal limit.

    Grease for Slide M&P 9?

I have shot a couple matches with temps in the low teens, using TW25B, and the guns worked perfectly (if low temp usability is important to you).

    HUGE argument with wife

My wife said "no AR", so I bought a Mini-30 in 7.62x39. Hey, it's a "Ranch Rifle", not a AR!

    winchester WSF

I love WSF and WST for .45 ACP. WSF seems to have about the lowest possible chamber pressure for any given velocity. They both meter great. WST has good volume and seems to give more uniform velocities in light loads.

Looking for a Bully Barrel for a Model 41

With respect to accuracy, I have been very pleased with my 5.5" Clark Custom STC barrel. Finding the right sight for it (for steel) has been an interesting challenge, however. A Burris FastFire III is real nice (especially for the money), but the lens is a little small and it is sometimes hard...

What .22LR round do you plink with?

I use CCI Standard Velocity exclusively in my steel guns (S&W Model 41, Browning Buckmark, and Magnum Research 10/22). I use CCI AR in my scoped (target) Magnum Research. Federal bulk pack works well in most anything and is accurate. I used it in a Sig 522 (which I traded) and my Henry lever...

    SPF: 629-5 Classic DX 6½" (Pre-Lock)

SPF to cubguy. I offer for sale a gorgeous 629-5 Classic DX with 6½" full-underlug barrel. I bought this here on the S&W Forum in February. The photos and this description are from the original listing from which I purchased: "629-5 6 1/2" Classic DX Shipped Jan. '00. The last engineering...

I am not trying to be a jerk...

My Sig 522 has always functioned 100% with Federal bulk pack (except for the occasional dud), but the latest batch I bought has been yielding about 5% duds, so I have switched to CCI AR (for matches, at least), and I just bought a box of Winchester M22 to try.

    Need good .22 rifle scope

I will give a call out to Weaver rimfire scopes. I have one of these on my Savage 93R17: Classic Rimfire Rifle Scope 3-9x 32mm Adjustable Objective Dual-X Reticle Matte It has an adjustable objective lens so you can be in focus at any distance. Parallex is set for 50 yards. I have one of...

Store a Model 41 with cocked hammer?

Finding and inserting a fired case in order to drop the hammer for storage is kind of a pain, and the slide is harder to work the next time out. Is it really necessary? Will it hurt the mainspring to be constantly cocked?

Model 41 and CCI stnd velocity ammo

I have a recent Clark STC barrel on my 41, with mixed results. Initially the gun would only very rarely extract an unfired round. I sent my gun and the Clark barrel to Clark. They supposedly adjusted the extractor and polished the chamber, but from the results I wonder if they even looked at...

    Nikon Pro Staff scopes ?

I have recently purchased 3 different Weaver Classic models (1-3x for my Mini-30 and two rimfire models) and am very pleased with the quality and the designs. I think they are very comparable to the ProStaffs - both are very good scopes for the money.

    Mini Red Dot for M41?

I guess what you are suggesting is a standard Weaver accessory rail made for a drilled and tapped Model 41 barrel, but cut down in size? If so, the Burris FastFire III is a good compact and lightweight red-dot. You can read about them here: FastFire III Reflex Red Dot Sight 3 MOA Dot...

Need advice - Docter Optic vs Fastfire III for a S&W 41?

I have no experience with the Doctor, but I have 3 MOA FastFire IIIs on my S&W 25-2 and 624 revos, and I briefly had a 8 MOA FastFire III on my S&W Model 41 with Clark Custom STC barrel (for steel) until I replaced it with a C-More RTS. I think the IIIs are great for target shooting (compact...
