    Trailer Hitch Locks

Years ago, one of my marina customers brought his boat in for us to set on his trailer first thing the next morning. He opened his garage door, ready to hook up the trailer. As he was getting a cup of coffee, he heard a noise and ran out in time to see his trailer turn the corner! He never...

If you use Cox webmail, be careful.-They fixed it

I quit using cox email several years ago because it was unreliable. If I couldn't get into my cox account... no email either. I have a secure private email that I won't mention but use yahoo for boring stuff. I keep several junk mail accounts for thing where a email is required to frustrate...

K frame factory adjustable trigger stop

My M 19-3 came with a trigger stop. I had it back to the Springfield Service Center not long after (back when officers could bring Smith's in and drop them off for service) and the gunsmith removed it. As a matter of policy they removed them from LEO guns because they could shift and keep the...

    Gift 🤠

All Model 36-1s are 3" barrel. Not all Model 36s with 3" barrels are the -1 variation. No one seems to know why. Remove the grips before soaking the gun as described earlier.

    Trailer Hitch Locks

I took a different approach. I removed the crank assembly to the landing gear on my gooseneck horse trailer.

Revolver: Sam Colt and the Six Shooter that Changed America

I have been a student of history and the horse soldier for many years. It was Colt's light 5 shooter in the hands of the Texas Rangers that brought Colt back from bankruptcy and proved the value of the revolver. I respectfully disagree that it was the 6 shooter that changed America.

    Gift 🤠

It has the 3" "Heavy Barrel" which were made in several styles. Mine is a fine shooter.

Pretty little holster but no gun to fit.

When it's safe to venture out... take it to pawn shop? or shops that handle older guns. Buy the guy a coffee and see if they'll let you try some likely candidates. As a one time leather worker... Wonderful work.

Will we ever learn about this Virus !?

I've already said my piece. This brings it all home. This could be your family... or mine. Texas Family Has 18 Relatives Test Positive For COVID-19 After Party

Will we ever learn about this Virus !?

I live in the North East, Rhode Island to be specific. My wife is a retired medical professional. We have watched the evolving knowledge of this CV-19 Virus. Located as we are between NY and Boston. The virus got here earlier... Our lock down worked and we've gotten ahead of it. Our...

    You’re caught in this situation....

In this hypothetical situation, one should stop when one first notices what is going on in front of you. Situational awareness friends! It's more likely it will expand towards you than give room to let you pass. The longer you wait, the more congested with people and vehicles around you. You...

5906 Rear Novak Sight Set Screw Stripped

When I was an inboard boat mechanic, I often encountered steel nuts that rusted to the point of flaking off when a socket was applied. I got many off by hammering on metric sockets until something would bite. This is a lot more delicate than a V8 exhaust manifold. I think the torex driver bit...

Clearing Jammed Revolvers - Mas AYOOB

When I started around 1976, I could sign out a PD owned Victory model with 6 mismatched lead round nosed cartridges. It was so loose it rattled when shaken. It spit lead pretty badly. We were supposed to be able to buy our own M66s through the PD. In the meanwhile, I carried my pristine M19...

Clearing Jammed Revolvers - Mas AYOOB

Yes, after the drill, someone else came up with a range rod which I inserted down the barrel and bumped it against something hard and was able to push the lead swc back enough to open the cylinder. Clearing your primary revolver under fire should probably be Plan B. A NY Reload (resorting to...

Clearing Jammed Revolvers - Mas AYOOB

I paid significant personal funds to take a training program by nationally recognized trainers. I was using my duty gear. BUGs weren't allowed. The only thing my PD provided was practice ammo, 38swc reloads. On one drill, myself and my partner were to exit the "patrol unit" take cover on...

Carrying Concealed - And a Stranger goes for your weapon

I remember working a crowd control detail and having a civilian bump into my back on purpose to confirm I was wearing my Second Chance vest. I really pissed me off.

I remember ordering the fully adjustable rear sight for my 39-2... and waiting a very long time to get it when they were run again.

Carrying Concealed - And a Stranger goes for your weapon

First off, I want to thank the OP for having the courage to admit a mistake and open this discussion so we can all learn from it. Anyone can be overpowered. We try hard not to be surprised. But that is the definition of an ambush. A lot of cops are indeed shot with their own or a partner's...

    Is Model 13 3" P&R A Unicorn

I had one. I gave it to my then finance. When we decided to discontinue our relationship she declined to sell it back to me. I had to console myself with a 3" M66 a -2.

    Model 19 or 10?

I'd recommend a new or late model used M66. It's much more versatile ammo wise. M66, being "stainless steel" won't have blue wear so holds value a bit better. Note the SS alloy used in guns will still rust if neglected. I'd probably buy a LEO trade in 4" in good repair... they are huge...
