If you could ONLY HAVE 1 .45ACP....

was going to start a thread asking who had a Les Baer Premier ll which would be my choice. Every review states that it's superlative.

    Flitz

It DID say somewhere when I bought it - might have been the gunshop ad where I bought it from. I think its some kind of abrasive or acts in the same way (if that makes sense).

that's the metal polish right? ISTR (1997!) it was just for "silver" (stainless, nickel) guns - it would make blue guns silver...

I shoulda lived in the late 1800's!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think some people have romanticised ideas of the past simply because that's when their favourite guns came out, or the way that the guns were made; there was plenty of junk around

Ever have a S&W you hated?

was always something fiddly and unappealing about any .22 for me; preferred airguns to be honest.

Ever have a S&W you hated?

don't hate any; my 2nd, a 4506 on paper looked great and had good reviews (1991) from many including Mr Ayoob. Bought it because I couldn't find a Sig 220 - v. rare in the UK at that time - even rarer now they're banned...:( They tried to get all ergonomic with the grips which didn't work for...

    Shooting & Home Invasion!!!

So, just out of interest, what do you say to those advocating drug legalisation on the basis that it appears to have worked in Switzerland and Portugal?

    Thoughts on Mexico

I remember reading Jeff Cooper's "Random Thoughts" column in the back of G&A where he quoted someone suggesting the authorities intercept shipments of drugs, poison them, then put them on the market...no market, no drugs trade... Seriously: I can see what he was saying; just attack the market -...

    Restaurant quality...

dunno what it is, but I've never reeeeally been a fan of restaurants: the general rule seems to be the cheapest muck going is the tastiest and most filling...I don't understand why people don't like McDonalds or the local kebab van...

Has anyone else given up on their local gun shops?

Seems to be a problem common to my hobbies: you see all this lovely kit in the magazines and can't find anywhere that sells it - they have to order it - which takes months. There was no ecommerce back in the early 90s so you had to go to the local gun shop or order it through the post.

    British SAS

But our government does whatever it can to cut the armed forces to the bone, and not only in peacetime, embarrassing us on the world stage in both Iraq and Afghanistan because it wouldn't fund them properly.

    British SAS

They do different things: the SAS is part of our army, the SEALS part of your navy right?

Gun Grievances: Things You Just Don't Like

WRT shooting, the thing that really gets to me is the attitude of many British shooters - the ultimate in apathy and self interest. What I saw in between the Dunblane shootings and the passing of the Firearms Act 1997 that banned pretty much everything on this site filled me with UTTER CONTEMPT...

    Cop Killer finally gets Justice

Off thread, but what I find ironic especially given the way the Soviets were, is the fact that Russia has all but got rid of the DP and working towards total abolition, whilst the US seems to be moving in the opposite direction.
