    Interesting 5" Pre-27 357 Magnum

U Main spring? Richard An outstanding find and in great shape! I noticed your gun was cut and has the adjustment screw for a flat main spring. In Bill's W main spring gun, the frame is cut but does not have the strain screw for a flat main spring. It would appear, the factory was...

S&W .38 SPL Chiefs Special Target Revolver

Chief's Special Target Your gun is not considered to be a CST, even though it has all the earmarks of a CST. There were 2517 CSTs produced from 1955-1977 on the model Chief's Special, model marked 36, and the model 50(the designation for the CST). As mentioned above, Ashland Shooters Supply...

    32 Federal Magnum- what Happened??

I agree 100%! However, in the picture, this gun appears to be in much better condition than it actually is! The gun pictured came to me as it is today. The previous owner bought it from someone that used it as a truck gun, so the exterior is in rough shape, but the internals are in great...

    32 Federal Magnum- what Happened??

327 Mag For those looking for the S&W revolver in the 327 Mag caliber and can't find one, make one! This is the gun that S&W should have produced! This is a 16-4 chambered in the 327 Mag. The cost of the rechambering is not very high and is easy to do for most gunsmiths. Your cost will...

S&W Collectors Association gathering in Tulsa last week -- wrap up

Froggie, where have you been? You missed all the hype a few months back! The latest and greatest Centennials were a special order from Lipseys 632UC, 432UC, 642UC, and 442UC with the fixed sights, just like your TWO 632-2 guns! Time to buy some more Centennials! Hey Bob, I sure hope you won...

    Powder coating abnomilies

Coated bullets Resize AFTER you powder coat! I wanted some heavy 9mm bullets but could not find what I wanted. I ended up buying .357" coated bullets and a Lee press thru sizing die. My fear was the process would wipe off the powder coating or damage it in some way. The end results was a...

    Business with retailers

George from Salt Lake Collectibles I received a purchase from George a few days ago which I had forgotten about(not a gun)! In the package was a hand written note with his apology for being late. "I had spine surgery and it's been a slow road coming back"! I was very impressed with his...

    *I* 40 S&W brass

That primer looks funny to me! ? It almost appears to be a crimped primer but I believe that "rim" is part of the primer cup. Is the dia the same as our primers? Does this brass have Berdan primer flash holes? jcelect

M/629 No dash rarity & value............

629 no dash The 629 no dash guns that are favored by collectors must be a 629 no dash, P&R frame, and have a "N" serial number prefix! The 4" and 8 3/8" were introduced in the early 1980s and shortly after the introduction S&W went to the alpha-numerical serial number system. The 4" and the...

    Model 629-1

Front sight The front sight has been dove tailed into the base which is not the way the factory installs the front sight blade and it cannot be changed back to a stock configuration. This gun is a custom built revolver to someone's specs which means the seller needs to find a person that...

    642 UC and Apex Kit

Oil, Oil, Oil! For those receiving the new UC guns, remove the side plate and apply ONE drop of a light oil at the trigger & hammer pivot pin and One drop at the bottom of the trigger return slide! It appears S&W cannot afford oil when assembling these guns! Everyone I have seen the inside...

    442UC Joining the "Cool Kids"

The factory did not need to make new tooling for the frame on the UC guns! The sight configuration is in the S&W line up right now, the 640 Pro Series. the change is in the barrel configuration. I agree these sights are well worth the extra cost. The grips do not fit ALL adults hands, but...

    25-5 custom?

Custom????? That appears to be a standard 8 3/8" 25-5. The only thing out of the ordinary is the yellow in the front site insert. The ship date is probably sometime in Mid 1980 jcelect

    Model 68 value ? ? ?

Mod 68 CHP = California Highway Patrol, OHB = over stamp, LAPD = Los Angeles Police Dept The bad guys could use 357 Mag ,or bigger, but the good guys could only carry 38 Spl. I don't understand the mentality, but it's the West Coast! ! ! Number Manufactured 1977 = 771 1978 = 256...

    Another silhouette!

That mount is an Aimpoint clamp on mount, which has a see thru base, which allows the use for the front sight. I don't know if they are still in business. That is a red dot mounted on the gun for low light woods shots. With my loads and the red dot sighted in for 50yds, I get about 1.5" drop...
