    WTB - .41 mag, 4" stainless barrel

My friend and I are desperate for a 4" stainless barrel for a S&W 657. Her son is approaching his 10 year anniversary as an LEO, and she wants to give him a BBQ gun to mark the occasion. I am having it engraved, and she is providing the revolver. His dream is a 4" stainless .41 mag, and I...

What the heck! 65-2 Mainspring surprise - Pics added

That is a fairly common practice on Single Action Armies to lengthen the life of the mainspring. It might be that it was done for that reason. Have you determined whether you have light strikes without it? If not, there probably isn't any reason to put in a new strain screw.

What's you favorite S&W revolver Model and Why?

If S&W would have stopped making new models after the Model 10, they still would have reached perfection for me! The Model 10-5 with a 4" barrel is everything I need in a handgun, and nothing I don't. I've carried this one for years, and am carrying it today. She's got some miles on her, but...

    Holster recommendation for 5" M&P ?

I have one made by Dave Elderton at KyTac. It is specific for the 5" Pro, and won't fit a regular 4". It completely covers the barrel and protects the fiber optic sight. Since the slides are different widths on the 5" Pro, make sure whatever you buy will fit it snugly enough to retain the weapon.

Movies you like but are embarassed to admit

I will go ahead and admit that I liked "Mama Mia." Pierce Brosnan singing ABBA songs is about as corny as it gets, but I loved it.

    Fun with lawyers

This is not the first time I'm glad to be legal counsel for a University and not a tax lawyer! Hell, I was in bed by 10:00 last night!!! Rick -- Hope the post offices close early for you today.

    Fun with lawyers

For those of you that "hate" us lawyers, try to remember that not all gun owners go into colleges and shoot kids, etc., just like not all lawyers are greedy crooks that want to become president or congressmen. There are all different kinds of people working as attorneys, and MOST of us can...

Hey, I resemble some of those remarks!! I'm not that dumb, really, but I have stepped in it in court at least once.

    Conceal a K-frame 4 inch

I carry a 4" K frame in OK every day (usually with my 442 in a pocket, also). The K frame is a wonderfully comfortable gun to tote, provided you have a decent belt. A thin dress belt from Sears probably won't work, as it lets the grip of the gun cant out as it sags. A nice gun belt, perhaps...

Pre War HD 4 incher! (w/HBH of course)

That gun brings back painful memories. When I first started buying and shooting Smith & Wessons, a friend gave me a nice deal on that gun's twin. I never warmed up to it, and sold it off at a show in OKC, without ever bothering to even learn what I had. Sold it for $150. I still cry...

    Mod 19

Great gun, Mike! My 14 year old just about climbed through the computer when he saw Bill Jordan's name on it. He just turned in a book report on "No Second Place Winner." Probably made his teacher nervous, but we are a revolver family! Of course, he really enjoys shooting his Model 19, even...

    Fess up...who had a "Theme" lunch-kit as a kid....?

Mine was a Wild Wild West lunchbox and thermos in the late 60's. My brother had a Get Smart box. Mom was a teacher at our elementary school, and was no fan of school lunches. However, if we wanted to take a lunch, we had to get out of bed and make it ourselves. We always did!!

    Just for fun...

I will second Hamilton Bowen. He built a gun for me that is just magical. Likely the best revolver gunsmith currently working at the trade. A true artist.

    Model 10-5 Nolstalgia

The 10-5 is my favorite handgun. I've got several, and have been hunting one from 1963. These guns just handle like they are part of your arm, and are a joy to shoot. My EDC is a 10-5. Nice gun and congratulations.

    Tulsa, Who's going?

Unfortunately, I have Nat'l Guard duty this weekend in OKC. However, a friend has a table there and picked up a few of my "trade" items. He has specific instructions to buy up all the nice Combat Masterpieces he finds, so I hope none of the rest of you were looking for one!!

Which would be better to trade?

If it's not a Parker Bros. or the like, there is no shotgun in the world worth trading a Smith for.
