    Any Corpus Christi LEO ??

I have the exact same revolver engraved CCPD 707. Any updates on this? I'm in Texas and always assumed it was Corpus Christi PD. Best, Jeff

Walter F. Roper and his writings, Updated Today

That 1927 signature looks a lot different than this 1931 one when he worked for H&R.

    Mod 18 22mag

I've been thinking of reaming a finish challenged K-22. But I was going to ream 3 chambers for .22 Mag and leave the other 3 as Long Rifle.

    629-1 Value

I think those grips are correct. At least the Lew Horton 629-1 I looked at last summer had them. Identical to yours. I was surprised at how roughly finished they were.

    Stinky Gun?

I'm with lamarw on this. Birchwood Casey cold blue smells terrible and the smell remains forever. It finishes the metal in a mottled chemical blue color and has a nasty sulfery, dead smell . A clue that this might be the case is the fact that you said it was worn. If it's Birchwood Casey, the...

    My reborn Astra Terminator .44

I see messages posted about the Terminator being attributed to Lew Horton. I emailed them about it, and am posting their response with their permission: ****************Start of pasted text*************************** Hello LC '92! I occasionally get a question on these. I know there are...

ID and Information Help Highway Patrolman

Well, its been buffed so hard the S&W logo is gone completely from the side. If I was selling that revolver, and someone offered me $300.00, I'd be on it like a duck on a June bug. Hope this was helpful and good luck.

ID and Information Help Highway Patrolman

My only comment is that it is a re-blue. And not a very good job at that. Notice the plum colored barrel and cylinder and dished screw holes. Good luck with it.

    Been Looking For A Long Time--Mod. 28-2

You may have paid a lot, but you got a super nice Highway Patrolman there. Its getting harder and harder to find them like that. Most have the hammer and trigger changed out to the target variety, replacement grips, and WO and RR sights. Yours looks like a pureblood.

Man, if it was shipped in 1955, that would be great. Thats the year I was born!

Very late model 4", blued, .38-44 Heavy Duty

For your perusal is this late model HD I just purchased. I bought it from an individual locally and don't think it has made the gun collecting circuits. Its as nice internally as it is externally and the grips are serial numbered to the frame. The chambers have not been cut for .357 and the...

I have a nice model 28-2 4" Highway Patrolman for sale. It is marked DPS from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Very early N prefix serial number. Mechanically excellent and showing finish wear from duty use. See the attached pictures. Very nice set of walnut diamond Magnas, probably not...

    Model 28-2 NYSP rescue.

You know, I can see the reasoning in bottoming out the rear sight now. If you tote it all day long, and count on it for self defense, that makes perfect sense. After all, officers use it as a self defense tool and not as a collector or a shooter like us recreational shooters. Thanks for sharing...

    Model 28-2 NYSP rescue.

Watchdog, this isn't the target trigger, its the smooth combat trigger. I believe these were special order just for NYSP. Most are like mine but some have regular trigger and sights. For some reason it sticks in my mind that these were ordered through John Jovinos shop there in New York City. I...
