    4006 Rear Adjustable Sight "Springy"

Yes and it's normal. #42 screws the rear sight up (or lets it down), #52 & 53 push down on it

    Finally got a nice SW M-19 2 1/2 bbl

Nice. And it has the "ε" ampersand on the barrel.

First Range Visit With My S&W Model 19 Carry Comp Moss

If you remove the ball then there's nothing 'locking' the front of the cylinder. Only the center pin at the back of the cylinder. Yes, mine has loosened up and I have no difficulty opening the cylinder but it does (and always will) feel different than the locking lug at the end of the ejector rod.

First Range Visit With My S&W Model 19 Carry Comp Moss

I noticed that on the M19 Classics too. I’m used to the feel of the center pin smoothly pushing the locking bolt out of the way. With the ball detent in the yoke cut that doesn’t happen.

Which 66 (No Dash) is the better gun?

July, 1975 per S&WCA Journal 7-3, same time the 2.5" M66 was introduced.

Which 66 (No Dash) is the better gun?

Looks to me like the barrel was replaced on #2. There's no pin holding the front sight blade on and you post clear pictures of both sides of the front sight. I can see the pin in both the left and right sides you posted for #1

    My “new” Model 66-2 4”

I've come across WVSP 056 and it's from Sep, 1983 but is also in the ACN4xxx's. Configured the same as yours with the target hammer and smooth combat trigger.

    5906 Frame Markings

Not sure of the time frame but S&W used to put the part number on the frame. But...most I’ve seen were in dot matrix.

    224 Harvey K-Chuk

Not with out turning the barrel back to make it fit deeper into the frame. 17/18/48 cylinders are .050" shorter than a Model 53 cylinder.

What was the converted cylinder originally from/for?

QC Score for New S&W Model 19-10 (no internal lock)

No initial problems and I did buy another since the 1st is now a 2.75”. Polishing on side plate isn’t perfectly even. Not a 1960’s Bright Blue.

New S&W Model 19 Classic (No internal lock)

I know they used to use Melonite on pistols. I had a 5946 with that finish and thought the M&P 1.0's were Melonite.

New S&W Model 19 Classic (No internal lock)

I wasn't aware any of the original Model 19 (-9) Classics were Cerakote, the 4.25" or the two PC K-Comps. The new 4" no lock 19-10 is blued. The 2.5" PC 19-10 is painted

    Factory Nickel & Proud Pins?

From the pics posted, it looks like a factory nickel. That ampersand is quite common on Model 19's in the K623 ~ K654 range. Since the front sight is blued and the barrel is nickel, the proud pins are quite common. Usually the front sight would be installed on the barrel, the pins polished...

Picking Up an Early Combat Magnum Tomorrow

Neither have I. Vast majority (except K26167x) of the nickel pres are in the K264's. K26167x is a unique and special revolver. Unfortunately I have not seen a letter on it. K261673 is the highest 6 groove I have seen.

    1975 Model 66-1

Yes, the right panel should be numbered 17144 if original. I would love to see a picture of the yoke. I had thought the "R" on the cylinder meant it was a replacement. I have seen a bunch of Model 66's from the gas ring on the yoke era that appear to have gone back to S&W and had a cylinder...
