    SOLD: S&W Model 19-4 $325 Tennessee

FS: Pinned and recessed 4" Model 19-4. It looks like it was left in a holster for a while so the finish is so-so. It works perfectly, however. I'm near Nashville/Fort Campbell and would prefer a FTF transaction. $325 firm. It's no mint museum piece but it's a lot of gun for this price. 19-4s...

About the ammo: Yes. About holsters, though, I dunno.

What guns have you regreted selling?

I only regretted selling one gun, a no-dash, tapered-barrel Model 67 with the best revolver trigger pull I've ever experienced. I sold it to a friend who sold it to his brother who traded it for a small, cheap .380. The good news is that I got a phone call from my friend 2 years later and was...

    NEW GENERATION FRUSTRATION RANT

There is one bright side to the general dismissal of revolvers. I've found that they generally languish on the pawn shop shelf and can often be gotten pretty cheaply. I bought a near-mint Model 14 for $300, a Model 19 in the box for $300, a no-dash, tapered barrel Model 64 for $350 that looked...

    New member needs help

You got a good one there. In layman's terms, that "K" in the serial number means "really nice revolver."

    NEW GENERATION FRUSTRATION RANT

It always starts off with "hey, you're really into guns. I wanna buy a handgun for the house. What do you recommend?" I always recommend one of 2 guns for a newbie, a .38 SPL K-frame or a Makarov. So far, only one person, my oldest, tightest, extant friend, has listened. He now owns one of...

    s&w 10-5

All of this Model 10 talk got me in a picture postin' mood. Below is my 10-5. It was originally shipped to The Wackenhut Corporation, c/o Goddard Space Command, in late 1968, just in time to provide security for the first moon shot.

    Gun Show Find 18-2

I got a pawn shop Model 14 for $300, had it a few years, and traded it straight-up for a pretty nice 18-2 about a month back. Being primarily a 4" K-frame .38 SPL shooter, I wanted to practice cheaply without having to spend hours reloading. Until just recently, I had no idea that these were so...

Thinking of a Stainless Steel S&W

The guys below have, as I write this, 43 Model 64s for a buy-it-now price of $249. Snag one because, when these police-trade-in lots are sold off, I'd expect the price for one will jump quite a bit. $249 for any stainless S&W K-frame is a lot of bang for the buck. S&W Model 64 POLICE TRADE 38...

    Model s&w 64

I love my no-dash 64. I wanted a tapered barrel and it took a long time to find a reasonably priced one. This, along with a no-dash 67, are my two favorite revolvers.

    Early 1972-73 model 67s question.

I love the tapered-barrel 67s and those shown so far are beautiful, absolutely gorgeous guns. My best shooter is a no-dash 67. This particular 67 has the nicest trigger pull of any revolver I've ever shot. I do better with it than I did with my 14-4 with the target trigger and hammer. Maybe...

First 67 dash to have heavy barrel?

I know that 67-1s came with a tapered barrel; I used to own one.

What would you consider to be the top 5, must have, S&W revolvers.............

I like .38 SPL so my selection may be a little .38 heavy: -No-dash Model 64* -No-dash Model 67* -Old 5" nickel-plated Model 10* -6" Model 28-2 -A shooter-grade 4" K-frame .22 so I can hone up for cheap! Anyone wanna trade me one? * Already got 'em! Note: I'm flighty. Tomorrow, my list may be...

Model 66 no dash to be considered

How much do you want one? How long will it take for another one to pop up for sale locally? If you go buy one on Gunbroker, how much will it cost to ship one to you up in Alaska? In the remoter regions of the country, one sometimes one has to pay a premium to get what one wants. I lived in...

    Help W/ Decision - Model 64 w/ 4" Tapered Barrel

Even for $400, it's a great gun. I looked for a tapered barrel 64 for 2 years before I found one that was affordable. They're tough to find. I'd snag it for $400 if the seller stood firm. They only made them for a short time; I think they'll be one of the more costly S&Ws in the future.

    M1917 S&W vs COLT ?

The Colt is a great gun with a nice action. If you have a selection from which to choose, look in the chambers to see if any are throated (with the little shoulder inside) and, if one is, grab it. I think that some of the earlier Colts weren't throated; the chambers were bored straight through...
