    Do you own/shoot a S&W 1911?

I have the stainless fixed sight model (108282 i think). I shoot it in IDPA matches. Early on I had a couple of misfires where the firing pin didn't contact the primer. I make a conscious effort to be sure I have the grip safety firmly depressed and haven't had the problem since. I haven't kept...

Any experience with S&W Performance Center Gun-smithing services?

I had them do the Master Action Job on a 22-4. The work and the turn around time was very good. The only problem I had was that it would only set off Federal ammo or reloads with Federal primers reliabily. My father in law has it now and with his reloads (using Fed primers) he hasn't had any...

    Novak sight replacement??

I have the same model you have. I just sent my slide to Novaks to have their adjustable rear sight installed. The Novak adjustable rear sits a little higher than the factory fixed so a taller front sight has to be installed. I had them install one of their red fiber optic front sights. Check out...

    Very cool experience

I used to go with my dad in the early 80's before he retired from the city PD. They carried model 64's back then.

A “Guns of Our Fathers” thread?

My dad retired from the Policeforce in 1984 with nearly thirty years service. He gave me the last revolver (S&W model 64) he carried as a Christmas gift in 1991. I shot it a few times at first and even used it to qualify when I got my carry permit. It hasn't been shot in over ten years and he...

    M65 3" or M19 2.5"

I know the question is one or the other and in todays economy "both" would be impossible for me. Heck, anything right now is impossible. Luckily I already have a 3" 65 and a 2.5" 66 and would have a very difficult time trying to decide which one I would part with. I agree with all the posts...

New Grips for my Model 22

I have a set of those grips on an old 1937 that has the barrel cut down to 4". I have medium sized hands that I thought were pretty tough (after working for 30 years in the electrical field) but after fifty or so rounds of hard ball the base of my thumb is cut and bleeding. I keep the Eagles on...

    1917/1937 help needed

Today while shooting my 1917 (I was told the serial number dates it to a 1937 actually) the locking bolt, spring and pin scattered to parts unknown (I am assuming these are what the parts are called, I looked at the exploded drawing of other models and that is what the parts I'm missing are...
