    Night time placement?

One of the major points I left out is that my bedroom door doesn't lock very well. I rent, so I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. With that said, you can imagine why I am so paranoid about getting to my gun fast. When I do own a house I would like to incorporate a motion light system that...

    Night time placement?

Yeah, I realize a blank isn't the best idea. Hence it was just and idea. The thought behind it would be to scare them if you heard them breaking in downstairs and didn't want to kill anyone. I realize it was half thought through. That's why it was just an idea.

    DAO question??

Oh, I understand better now. Explain a little more on the half cock. On my 4006tsw the slide will cock the hammer 100% (ready for single action pull) while yours is at half. Yours is still DAO, but half cocked with the new hammer?

    Chrome/nickle plating?

Hello. I am considering buying a police trade in gun. Becasue they are always worn out, I want to know where I could get it chrome/ nickle plated, and if this would cover any nicks and scratches etc. So where did you get yours done, and about how much was it. Was it good quality?

    COLLECTING PD GUNS

    Just so you know there are a few police guns on gunbroker right now that I saw. A 4006 S/W Model 4006 .40cal stainless : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com And a 4003 S&W 4003 40cal Tactical Atlanta Police (B-11244) : Semi-auto at GunBroker.com

    DAO question??

I am quite fond of the 4000 series semi auto pistols. Especially all stainless. I"m thinking about getting a 4046tsw, but I like the SA/DA feature of my 4006tsw. I don't want a heavy trigger pull. So my questions 1.Does anyone get tried of the DAO trigger pull? It it that bad? 2.Does the smaller...

    Night time placement?

Good point. That's why I haven't done it. Now that I think about it, the cycling of the gun or, as CenterTree said, your voice should replace the blank. A blank could provoke them to fire back, even if they didn't intend to. This is why I wanted everyone's opinion..keep 'em comin'! I don't...

    Night time placement?

I figure they have a few warnings: 1. They hear me getting up 2. They hear me cycling my gun 3. They see light coming from the other side of the door 4. I yell at them. I had an idea that I haven't done because it may present many issues, but here it is anyway. *JUST AN IDEA* Load the first...

    Night time placement?

I want to be up out of my bed with a maglite pointed at the door before someone walks in. Hopefully they would see the light coming from the sides of the door and that would be enough. I realize you don't always have the option to hear them coming, so that's why I've been thinking about easy...

    Night time placement?

From the time I purchased my handgun about a year ago I have had a hard time knowing what to do with it at night. At first it was in it's case under my bed. Then thinking about needing it faster in a real time of need, I moved it to my nightstand (in it's holster). Then I moved it to the lower...

    9mm vs 40 s&w

Consider this quote from wikipedia (40 S&W) "while possessing nearly identical accuracy, drift and drop, it adds almost 50 percent more energy over the 9 mm Parabellum with a more manageable recoil than the 10 mm Auto cartridge.[16] With good JHP bullets in the more energetic loads (> 500...

    4006 Slide Stop

Be careful with adjusting the springs. I got the 5 for $30 deal from buds gunshop. One mag was bad so I exchanged it. The next one they sent me was bad as well. The bullets wouldn't match up in the indicator windows of the mag. When I was shooting the spring didn't have enough upward pressure...

    6906 Shooting low

Same with my 4006tsw. I always cover the target to hit it dead on. I like the idea of switching to a different grain...I've always shot 180. I also have the Novak sights.

    4006 Question

I would definitely buy it. I have a 4006tsw. I love mine! It has been a little heavy to carry around, but it is well built. I wanted it a little heavy as a personal preference. I've gotten pretty good with mine. It has been very reliable and accurate. The only thing I am not fond of is there...

    4006 in the movies

I love mine too. It has only had about 200 rounds through it. I never have had a problem with it except when my left thumb bumped the slide stop durring shooting (it is too big IMO). I thought it jambed, then I figured out what was happeneing. Oh yeah, thanks for the list of movies...
