    Dating a Model 49 Bodyguard

Purchased a Model 49 from a friend. Was his father in laws at one time. Serial number is 241468. It has a flat latch and pinned barrel, which puts it pre 1966 according to Volume 5 of the SCSW. Has rubber grips currently, I know he has the grips which should have the diamonds. Just a year...

    Airport Scanner Experience

Years ago flying from home to St Louis had to go through the machine. Big yellow circle pops up around my knee. Get pulled aside for pat down and investigation. No metal in my knee, no nothing. What was it, the folded up portion of my jeans at the knee looked suspicious to the machine...

    CZ CraZy

My love of CZ's started by accident while I was at the range one day. Not many of us there and I'm on one lane far to the left and another guy far on the right. The RO hears me shooting my M1 carbine and asks what I have. So, he is checking it out and the guy on the other end of the range...

I LOVE THIS OLD "SAM SPADE" COLT 1903 POCKET PISTOL!

I have one of each of those as well. I don't shoot them nearly enough. My M1908 vest pocket is basically down to the metal as someone carried it alot and shot it very little and wore the finish away. It grouped very well at 7 yards for me which was surprising. I also like shooting the Savage...

    CZ 75 Compact

You can take a 16 round magazine for the full size 75b and take the base plate off and replace it with an SP01 baseplate and it will cover up the 1/4" of magazine that would be exposed if inserted into any of the compacts. Be aware that the full size mags for the SP01 have been known to have...

Stolen firearms returned today!! Happy early birthday to me!!UPDATE

Congrats, I'm in the same boat! I've had 4 recovered so far, hoping to hear from an agency this year as I've been getting about 1 every year. All have been handguns so far, don't see gas station robberies with bolt action rifles. Hope they find the rest of yours!

I added a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Colt.

1918 date of manufacture. I have one that was carried and has finish wear and pitting as well. Still shoots well even with the tiny sights!

What was your first handgun purchase?

Bought a like new with a box 1955 Colt Detective Special in '99 for around $450. Shop threw in a box of ammo and it had a custom holster with it. Sadly it was stolen almost six years ago. Someday I hope to get it back.

What Is The Big Deal With Uncle Mike's Grips?

On my FEG hi power clone, every now and then I have to pull the Uncle Mike's off and wipe them down as they get a little gummy sitting up against the frame. They do make it feel better when it sits in your hand.

    Another Post War M&P

Picked up a 4" blued .38 special M&P at the last local show. Serial number is 88471x. The grips are the high shoulder and are stamped and match the serial numbers on the gun. Would it have shipped in late '46 or early '47?

    cz 75b shooters

My Compact, steel frame P-01, and SP-01 like 115gr and 147gr. Feeds both weights of hollow points well and is accurate as well. I was informed by the previous owner of the compact not to shoot 135gr Critical Duty as they jammed the gun and would not seat right in the chamber.
