    Price ? on S&W M19-3 2.5"

Agree. A gun that I want is worth exactly what I'm willing to pay for it, regardless of whether anyone else thinks it's a "good deal" or not.

    Price ? on S&W M19-3 2.5"

If it helps you for price comparison purposes, I bought a nickel 2.5 inch 19-4 about 18 months ago, 99% but no box/papers, for $600. It's a great gun, and I'm very glad I bought it.

Legal issues to consider regarding gun mod's for carry weapons.

Mr. Ayoob, I have a great deal of respect for you as a firearms expert and writer, but I think you are missing the point. Both of the cases you mentioned involved double action revolvers, and the issue was whether the guns were cocked. In Alvarez, the prosecutor argued that it was, and in...

Legal issues to consider regarding gun mod's for carry weapons.

I haven't weighed in on this because I didn't think I had anything to add that had not already been said, but I have to concur with "southcoast." I'm not a firearms expert, but I am a lawyer with Westlaw access, and I can't find a case where a modified trigger was an issue in a shooting...

    An ode to old slabsides...

Took my old Series 70 to the range yesterday, carried my CCO today, and have a new Government Model in .38 Super on order. I guess you could say I like them, too.

    Model 19-3 advice/guidance

I paid $600 for a nickel 2.5 inch 19-4 a little over a year ago, no box, but original grips and in better condition than the one in your post. $550 is a bit steep, at least in my area.

    Caring For Nickle Finish

I use CLP to clean mine. When they first come home, they get a thorough polish with Mothers (available at auto stores), followed by Johnsons wax.

Rant: Having A Concealed Handgun Permit Does NOT Make You A Cop

Your acquaintance's behavior is the exact OPPOSITE of how a reasonable and prudent person who carries a gun should behave. When we carry, we should take great pains to stay away from confrontation, or contributing to the escalation of any situation that might lead to confrontation. If you have...

    Pre-War Heavy Duty received today

Just my opinion, but since the finish has already been tampered with, that gun looks like a good candidate for rebluing. Very nice find. Congratulations.

    Model 19

I was making the limited point that like the BHP, the ergonomics of the 19 work well for most people. The operative word is "most." I understand that you subjectively disagree, but I fail to see how that affects the validity of the comparison.

    Model 19

Collectible because they don't make them anymore. Desirable because it's the Browning Hi-Power of revolvers: points and handles naturally for most people, fits most hands well, just excellent ergonomics. I love them. Shoot one and you probably will too.

Several People Have Asked Me About Starting A Church Security Team

I am a lawyer, and my practice is primarily insurance law. While I am not generally opposed to the idea of a church security team, there are a number of things a church and potential team members should consider before going down that road. First, make sure your church has some sort of corporate...

OK, it was actually the Mrs., but they sure dress up the Model 19-4.

    "Shooter" 19-3 Snub Pickup

Good buy on a great gun. My 4 inch 19-4 has some honest wear, but it's one of my best shooters. Congrats. You'll enjoy it.

    Latest M&P Model of 1905 - nickel

The nickel screws are hard to find, but Numrich or Brownells probably has stainless screws that will match better than blued. That's what I did on my nickel pre 10.

    My First Model 19

I see only one problem with that revolver...the condition is so good you're going to be reluctant to carry and shoot it. Beautiful gun. As for price, if you want the gun, whatever you're willing to pay is a good deal. Congratulations.

    Model 19-3 Buying Advice

Less than I paid for my 19-4 in similar condition. If you want it for a shooter, buy it. You'll like it.
