    Nickle 19-4 need value help

To buy or sell? Buying that model 19 for $450 would be a screaming good deal. If you are selling it, $450 is waaay to low. I'm guessing the package is worth $700 or better.

.44 snubs: What about the recoil

Sorry Old Navy I wasn't making a comment on your function test, I was offering some friendly advice that Don K. asked for in his original post. Both of you guys are made of stronger stuff than I am to subject yourselves to what must be punishing practice sessions.

.44 snubs: What about the recoil

Sometimes you have to learn to walk before you can run. Keep your DA speed slow and deliberate until you can consistently keep a tight group at 5 yards, then do the same at 7 yards. Don't speed up until your groups are tight and consistent...then start back at 5 yards and add a little speed...

29-2 Engraved Circ 1980 Bonded Simulated Ivory Grips

What a great looking S&W. The wood stocks are beautiful and an improvement in my opinion. After you put your revolver back into the safe for the night, turn that glass over and pour yourself two fingers to celebrate.

    My "new" model 13

Congrats on your new model 13. It seem that a whole new generation of shooters are rediscovering the joys a good revolver can bring. I can't advise you on an IWB holster but when I carry my 4" model 19 it's in a Bianchi Model 7 pancake style holster and an untucked shirt or with a jacket. It's...

Lots of kill shots with my little 442

I carry two 6 round speed strips in my weak side front pocket. With speedloaders I shift my 442 to my weak hand and load the revolver with my strong side hand, but with speed strips the reload always seems to go faster loading from the weak hand side. A friend of mine, a retired policeman, got...

    Made me wanna cry

Don't believe that for a minute. She knows. Just like you can't tell one pair of her shoes from the other.

Ever see a gun and the first thought that comes to mind is, "Huh"?

Remember the pistols in 'Logan's Run'? I'll bet this revolver belched brimstone and fire like those rocket guns did.

Question for grip Guru's FIXABLE ???

Do it. They won't look new, but they will look clean and well seasoned.

    is this a fair deal?

It looks like he wants all his money back for his modifications. I personally don't think what he did is worth all the extra money. I don't think he added much to the defensive capabilities and absolutely ruined any collectible value. He does look like he's adding easily $100 or more in ammo and...

    66-1 bdps marked

You know what's funny is all of those revolvers that the good guys threw down in the movies would have looked like this.

Now my 19-4 looks like it did when I got it!

Your dad would be proud (with the gun and the son).

    lubing ejector rod?

I'll err on the side of putting more oil on my guns than too little. When I finish cleaning, I oil the firearm until it's almost wet and dripping with oil. Then I lay it on a towel for an hour or so and then wipe off the excess with the towel or a silicone cloth. The "drop here and a drop...

Safe to wash a revolver in seawater?

Thank you, I'll be here all week. Remember to tip your waitresses.

Safe to wash a revolver in seawater?

No, unless you wash it in the Gulf of Mexico, where it will both clean and oil your revolver at the same time.

    Current 442 finish?

I think the frame is black anodized and the cylinder and barrel are matte blued.

    Carbon Deposits

Sometimes you just need to let your bore cleaner sit for a while. Load up the barrel and cylinders with your bore cleaner, work on the rest of the firearm, then go back 15-20 minutes later to scrub things out and see if that doesn't help.

29-2 with dull looking barrel-need advice

Somewhere down the line, collectors will be looking for these two tone Model 29's as an unusual manufacturers 'error', and they will be worth a premium over a standard Model 29. I know, I know, but that is how these guys are. Flitz would work but be careful. I would sell it and buy somthing I...
