Congrats on the 40 pro bud. I picked up a 9 pro 5" a couple of months ago because I couldn't find a 40 pro 5". It is by far my favorite of the four M&P's I have. I wanted the 40 because my department issue gun is the M&P 40, but the 9mm is so soft shooting I don't regret the purchase at all...

Well that sucks, but why not just get an easy out and remove it yourself. Then have Smith send you a replacement screw. I believe with the RMR you use the screws that come with the RMR to mount it. I see no reason to send this to Smith and be without the gun when this is an easy self fix.

Yes they did. It appears that newer M&P's are comming with the new factory textured back straps that first appeared on the C.O.R.E. guns. My gun had a test fire date of 6/10/13 so it is of very recent production.

Thanks for the heads up, but I am only interested in the 15 round mags as these are for L.E. use. The trouble is I can't find any in stock, even if I am willing to pay inflated prices.

I need to find some more .40 mags for my duty gun. As of now, I have eight, but they are split between my department issue gun and my personal M&P 40 full size. I would like to double or tripple that number.
