I am new here, but have been browsing thru some old threads. Tell me about this and please feel free to post me some pics of yours. I am a die hard do it yourselfer. Thinking I can try it on one of the extra grips that I don't use that came with my M&P. Also, I want to do some color filling on the engraving on my gun. It is duracoated, will I encounter any problems with using a thinner to remove extra paint? Thnx for any info in advance.

There are plenty of photos in the pic thread but here are a few of mine that I have done myself.

M&P 9 Pro 5"

M&P 40 (my spare duty gun)

I use a very fine tip attachment to my soldering iron. If you buy one, get one with interchangable tips so you can practice with each one to see which pattern you like best. Go slow and don't try to do it all in one sitting. Make sure you tape off or measure out and pre mark the areas you want to stipple. Its very easy to do yourself, you just need to plan out what you want and go slowly.

Those look nice. When I have some free time I will give it a try. Thx for the pics and the response

I just used one from work

In truth I wouldnt do it again. I think it was beginner luck. Ive seen a lot of hideous ones and you cant chage it afterwards

Also look into the slip on grips with the finger grooves. looks good and you can't throw the gun away even with sweaty or wet hands.. George

Here is mine. Did it with a soldering iron with a fine point. It was my first try. Very time consuming.
