This is terrible. I was thinking it had been back for a factory recall! Now I may have to send it off. I dont want to be away from it for that long. It really is a great piece. Regardless of this finish I love it. It is likely hard chromed and I am ok with that.

It is possible that the hammer and trigger were swapped out. As stated by Alk8944 it is stamped on the frame with a "N". So it was likely nickel from S&W. Not saying it wasnt refinished but it should have originally been Nickel.
