Hi, yes, my gunsmith fixed it and said the same thing...ejector rod was loose. He probably charged $10 or $20. It was not that big of a deal. I sold the gun a long time ago. Good luck.

Fun gun for iron sights and 50 yards and beyond. Kind of heavy. But they can be fun and accurate. I ended up selling mine. I kept a 686 in 6”. Sounds like your price is good.

For target shooting the easily changeable front sight is a big plus.

By all means get one of the great S&W 625 models because they are fantastic. However, if you want to learn how to shoot double action then I'd suggest also getting a .22 with a speed loader and loading block. Load up close to 500 rounds in the loading blocks and get that trigger finger working.

The 617 is a must if you want to improve your revolver skills, especially double action shooting. Go for it.

Frank Glenn is my go to gunsmith. He’s excellent, honest, and has very reasonable turn around times. There are a lot of competent gunsmiths but turn around times can be long.

Here's my go to 45 load. Works great in my revolver, 1911, CZ97B. One load for all and it's clean.

My vote is on erosion. Here's some Titegroup induced erosion in one of mine. It's not pretty but doesn't affect the accuracy. I stopped shooting Titegroup in my revolvers.
