    Info please

Thanks for the replies, can someone explain P&R? I'm unsure of the box, it was advertised as original, but I'm not so sure. Regardless I would have purchased it without.

    What do I have

I like the long barrel as well, it’s what caught my eye, I understand that a lot of the value disappeared with the polish and refinish. But it wasn’t purchased for that. I was just curious how old it was, for the price and the age I think it’s a beautiful gun. I’ll keep the original grips put...

    Another questions

It seems to have a problem with the trigger, rapidly squeezing the trigger locks it up, it doesn't seem to return all the way. Maybe a weak spring or gummed up. Finish shows its age. Action seems tight, fires good if you take your time with the trigger pulls. I don't think I'll settle the whole...

    Another questions

Since all of you have been so helpful with the Victory questions I've asked, I have another. A friend owes me some money and offered me a S & W .38 special he's had for a while. He said he got it at a pawn shop and doesn't know anything about it. It's a 4 inch barrel, blued, it's shinier than...

    Victory info needed

I'll never know for sure how he ended up with it, the two stories surrounding the gun are it was his service revolver (which now seems unlikely) and two, being an over the road truck driver, he got it from an Ohio State Trooper (more likely), as I said Pap was quite the embellisher. I'm happy to...

    Victory info needed

Waidmann, thank you for the info, I will be on the lookout for the correct grips. My Grandfather was MP in WWII, but I'll have to check the family history, I don't know if he ever made it to England. I'm not really sure how he came to own it, it was supposed to be his service revolver. Truth is...

    Victory info needed

Oldiron you may be right on the grips, the numbers are not stamped very deep and I can't read them. There are other numbers stamped on the frame where the cylinder swings out they are 3 and under that is 91553. There was some light rust on it so I wiped it down with Hoppes #9. I will probably...

    Hello from Pittsburgh PA

Hello all, Newbie here from Pgh, not just new to the forum but new to guns in general. I recently purchased a Sigma 40VE and was searching for info, I was reminded I had my Grandfathers .38 in a dresser drawer. I posted in the victory data base thread and figured I should introduce myself...
