does anyone else wish for a 22 MAG version?

It's a fun cheap rifle to spray lead with cheap ammo. Why would you want to have a fun cheap rifle to spray lead with expensive ammo? If you want to shoot 22 WMR or 17 HMR, get a rifle it deserves like a CZ 455.

CZ for accuracy at reasonable cost.

    My AR 15-22 double fires

Keeping that rifle, with you now knowing it can fire more than one round with a single trigger pull, puts you in all kinds of legal, liability issues, not to mention, that something is very very wrong and could lead to darn near anything...like firing on a bump. It should be assumed to be...

First time trying color fill...and now my issue

I would not use non-acetone nail polish remover either. It may not have acetone, but it has something else that will equally well dissolve nail polish, and plastic. I have a damaged vinyl chair that proves it.

    Bolt Polish job

All it takes is a half hour and 600 grit emery paper. Finish with some rouge.

UPDATED: Why would the entire back of the round blow off?

Your firing pin may be the longer style. They shortened to firing pin to prevent OOB ignition as well. With the hammer down, it should not be past the recessed face of the bolt. Only strikes the round by inertia.

    POI shift with scope magnification?

Copied from another forum, another poster... Close your eyes and pick the gun up and put in the position that feels the best to you. Without moving the gun, open your eye, DO NOT TRY TO LOOK THROUGH THE SCOPE. What is your eye looking at? If you are looking at the top of the eyepiece of your...

    POI shift with scope magnification?

Only thing is to modify your stock or get a different scope. I mount my scope by closing my eyes and then opening. If I don't see an even shadow around the target when the scope is forward, before tightening, I know I'm going to have a problem. I think there is a good thread on rimfire...

I have an idea that JB Weld will outlast the magazine, but we'll see.

    New firing pin different look

Perhaps is was not a slam fire problem, but early models had OOB firing, destruction of ejector, etc., leading to the shorter pin.

    New firing pin different look

In an inertial pin, the pin cannot extend past the bolt face except during the firing when the momentum is transferred to the pin. The old pins were longer and the pin was longer than the bolt and extended when the hammer was against the bolt face. The newer pin is shorter. At least that is...

    POI shift with scope magnification?

    Make sure it isn't parallax.

M&P 15-22 fails with parts coming out

Could you possibly have had one with the old long firing pin? That used to cause OOB firing, blowing out the ejector.
  17. M

    New firing pin different look

I think the old one was guilty of slam firing and the newer one is shorter, only protrudes by inertia. Correction, the early problem was OOB ignition, not necessarily slam fire. Pardon my brain fart.

    Need help, firing pin.

I got one from s&W within a week just this month...along with a spare extractor etc.

    Groups at 100 yards

I've been shooting over a half century and can lay a dime over shots at 25 yards with a spring pellet rifle of suitable quality and scoped. I can lay a quarter over my deer rifle groups at 100 yards, handload, 4lb trigger, good optics, bench rested. But iron sights at 100 yards with a tactical...

New M&P 15-22.... Love the gun, but numerous failures

Make sure your extractor is there, functioning, and the bolt area is clean under it. Most of my FTF have been related to magazine loading not staggered. I use the assist only enough to load in one round at a time.
