UR? Ukrainian Republic? I don't doubt that the citizens of the UR have significantly different rights than citizens here in the U.S., and I agree that they would appreciate a loosening of the regulations there. Thanks for the global politics update!

So 'IMO !' must be the casual greeting in UR, like 'Hey !'. Cool, now I speak Ukrainian. :D

It's ENTERTAINMENT!!!! No one says it's real and anyone who think these shows bear any resemblance to reality also think Honey Boo Boo is quality TV. :D

WARNING!!!!!
David Olofson, a Wisconsin gun owner, was convicted for transferring a machine gun. In actuality, Mr. Olofson owns a perfectly legal, AR-15 semi-automatic rifle. He loaned it to a friend to use at a local shooting range. The gun had fired over 800 rounds of ammunition before misfiring. Upon misfire, it fired two shots in a row and jammed on the third. This is commonly known as a "hammer follow." The misfire happened twice. Another party at the range heard the multiple round burst and notified police.

The S.W.A.T. team, local police, Sheriff's Department, and BATFE subsequently conducted a no-knock raid of Mr. Olofson's house. The S.W.A.T. team kicked down Mr. Olofson's front door, entered wearing full body armor, then seized all of his guns, gun manuals, and his computer. Mr. Olofson, family man and Army veteran, was arrested.

The BATFE conducted a field test on the alleged machine gun, but was unable to recreate the multiple round burst. Not liking the negative results of the test, the field agent ordered the gun retested using a cheaper form of ammunition which is easier to cause multiple firings if you have a malfunction. Upon retesting, the gun did malfunction which was enough to get Mr. Olofson convicted of transferring a machine gun.

This is VERY TRUE. A year or so back I bought a used RIA 1911 pistol at a LGS. Took it straight to the range *same one my local L.E. agency uses*.

And loaded up a 7 round mag.

Put the sights on target, squeezed the trigger once.

Bang bang bang bang bang bang bang *slide locks open*.

2 Officers look over at me with a "what in the the!?" look as i fumble the pistol and drop it on the table in dead shock.

They both walk over and ask to the tune of "what the ********* was that!".

I said I have no idea!

They tried a mag and yet again full auto fire through the whole thing.

The 3 of us go back to their shop. They have their LT "also a gunsmith" look it over.

Turns out the previous owner had tied to do a trigger job on it and messed up the sear and dis-connector pretty badly.

My local PD carries 1911's so for a charge of like $30 he put a new sear and disconnect in which fixed the problem.

However they told me I was very lucky it happened right there, and I had a receipt saying I bought it 3 hours before because Otherwise it was a machine pistol and I would have been up the creek without even a boat to sit in.

Very dangerous stuff legally when a gun does this in any shape or form

you'd be surprised how often the general public thinks they know what LEO(s) should, could, or cant do - simply based upon the bull**** they see on these CSi shows.
why do you think people are in such shock when a cop shoots center-mass, and the suspect dies. its the same reason people expect cops to shot a pinky, ankle, and or hand on a charging suspect = THESE FAKE CSI SHOWS RAISE PEOPLES EXPECTATIONS. its the same reason the general public thinks a cop can run a cellphone number and watch it moving as a pulsating red dot on GPS map. LOLOLOL

As I intimated ... there are really stupid people in the world. I am NOT disagreeing with you, just not getting bent out of shape of something I have no control over.

i just wasted a few minutes of my life and kinda puked in my mouth! that is the first time i've watched the show, my wife watches it, but i'll stick with the hunting channels, discovery, history and military channels. a little more truth there.

lol, you probably shouldnt have even posted that failure on the internet....logic would bring me to beleive that a semi automatic that double shoots is a problem and needs to be sent back asap...lmao but hey...what do i know

Keeping that rifle, with you now knowing it can fire more than one round with a single trigger pull, puts you in all kinds of legal, liability issues, not to mention, that something is very very wrong and could lead to darn near anything...like firing on a bump. It should be assumed to be unsafe. Unload it lock it and send it in...is my advice.
