I just bought a new 629 5 inch barrel yesterday born on date 5/23/2023 took the grip’s off and it has the holes. I also bought a new 5” 686-357 model a couple months ago with a born on date 01/05/22 it also has the holes. Looks like the holes are here to stay.

They do work but eventually the beads inside won’t recharge. The one I had was a Remington brand and I was always forgetting to plug it in to recharge it. I use a couple of golden rods now in my safe’s, just plug it in and forget about it.

We have a pet deer named little girl that shows up late May every year. She had triplets 3 yrs in a row when she was younger. Last year she only had one. I’ve been hand feeding her for the last 7 yrs, how she makes it through hunting season every year is a mystery to me.
