    Model 66 grips

The grips that are on there now are Square Butt Target grips with the ‘U’ Speedloader Cutout. They are one generation older from your gun. Your gun would have originally come with Square butt target grips (Also referred to as stocks) with the Football Cutout. They are out there, but a good...

    Value question Nickel 586

A Nickel 586 is a rare bird. They just didn’t make a lot of them. So if you see one you like, and the price is reasonable to you, snag it. Pre-Lock 586’s have been climbing steadily in value over the past few years. I truly believe they are the best offering S&W has ever had. They are the...

*SOLD* 2 Pair John Culina (Kurac) Sq Butt, N Frame Stocks: Cocobolo, Birds Eye Maple

For Sale are Two Pairs of Square Butt B Frame Stocks for S&W Revolvers. I don't have any N Frames in the collection as I prefer L Frames which I just handle more naturally. The First set is Cocobolo. I have had these on a Revolver when shooting, but there is not scratching or damage to them...

    New to me 686-6!

You are going to find that the L Frame is one of the best balanced revolvers out there and is a natural pointer. S&W got the proportions perfect on the L Frame. They will handle any factory level ammunition. Very accurate, great triggers. Congo’s your first one.

    686-4 With A Target Trigger

It is very possible someone had the Target Trigger installed. Not a hard thing to do for any competent revolver smith. Hopefully when the trigger was installed they did trigger job too. Anyways, snag the 686. Don’t ask, don’t question, just do it. Yes, we are enablers here.

    Approx value of a 16-4 4" barrel

They were always $1200 - $1500 whenever I would see them on Gun Broker, and with the pandemic, they go for more now. If you really want one, you may just have to bite the bullet and pay more then you want to get what you want. In time, it will be worth what you paid for it. Smith & Wessons...

Thank you very good Santa! New to me 586-5

Your 586 is sweet. How come your NJ permit is expiring? Is NJ not allowing you to renew it? I live in Connecticut so I am familiar with the animosity towards folks like us.

    S&W no dash 586

I have owned several excellent S&Ws over the years. The 586 is my favorite of all of them. It is the best shooter of all of the ones that I have owned.

    Did they ever make this.....?

According to my version of SCSW the 627 was never offered in 8 3/8” barrel. 6 1/2” is the longest barrel they ever had available.

3" Model 10 HAPPINESS! (formerly frustration and sadness)

Just spray a lot of Ballistol in the bore, let it sit for an hour or so and then use some brass brushes and some elbow grease. It will shoot great.

    1982 686 with port

It would not be factory ported. There are tone of clean 686’s out there. Keep looking.

    Tucson Gun show 629-4

629-4 is considered the best iteration to get. It has all of the performance options and no MIM and no lock.

2 Estate revolvers; couple of questions.

Model 60 looks like 1989, and yes the 686 looks like 1988. The Model 60 can handle +p without issue. Assuming good condition on both and original stocks, I would say the model 60 is worth $550 to $600 and the 686 to be worth at least $800. That’s ballpark. The 686 could go for more if it...

    681 back from Pinnacle

Really well done custom conversion. You have the best of a lot of worlds here. 3” barrel, 7-shot capability. You have firepower and concealability. Great weapon.

    My Model 58

If you fire some hot Magnums through it get aTyler T for use with the Magnas or a set of target grips. You will bust your knuckle otherwise. Beautiful 58. .41 Magnum is severely underrated as we all know.

    Need Advice.

Yes, the hand is needed. My advice is to watch a YouTube on S&W repair. There are tons out there. It is possible that a disassembly and reassembly video could do the trick. You may need a little bit of fitting done, so if you can’t get it to work, take it to a good smith.

    29-2 With MIM Combat Trigger

If you are going to shoot magnums out of that, keep the smooth faced trigger on it. The serrated trigger that it came with will beat up your index finger while shooting. I had a 629 with the smooth trigger and a 29 with a serrated trigger. 629 was so much fun to shoot, the 29 beat the hell...

    M41: nickeled or hard-chromed?

Hard Chrome. My favorite finish for an old school pistol like that. It looks excellent.

    Life span models 686/586 S&W

I was at an LGS today talking with a great guy that works there. He was telling me that on vacation he and his wife (she shoots competitively) put 700 rounds through their 2020 Python in one day. He said it performed like a champ. I said ya, it’s like a Colt 686, and he laughed and said...
