    Shield 40 Alpha Wold Barrel

I tested my new Alpha Wolf barrel for the M&P Shield 40. It functioned well and zero failures with HST ammo. Accuracy appeared very good but I didn’t do a strict accuracy test yet. My main test was chrono graphing the loads to compare the velocity increase. The results were great: 180gr HST...

Well I ordered an Alpha Wolf threaded barrel. I'll post a review on it.

    Shield 40 Alpha Wold Barrel

Looking for any feedback on the Alpha Wolf or TR Enabling barrels for the Shield 40 from those who have one. I'm interested in a threaded version for added velocity and also for use with my silencer.

Anyone ever have a .40 shield blow up

Several years ago when I first bought my Shield 40 1.0, I had a death wish and worked up some very hot loads to the maximum. I had cases bulging just like in the picture from rosewood above. I hit 1303fps, 584ft-lbs with a 155gr, and 1498fps, 673ft-lbs with a 135gr. Both with the 3.1" OEM...

Blacklist Match Barrel, Test and review

Yes Blacklist were made by KKM in the past. About 2 years ago they stopped using KKM. Great to hear about the 40-9 conversion for the Shield 40. I have a Shield 40. Send me one if you want me to test it out and do a review :) Now what I'd love to see is a 40-357sig conversion!

Blacklist Match Barrel, Test and review

Not sure if it would make much of a difference in the Shield. I bought the Blacklist for competition use in a Glock 19 and will be getting another for my 5.3" Glock 34.

Blacklist Match Barrel, Test and review

I recently tested a Blacklist match grade barrel side by side with the stock OEM barrel in my Glock 19. They also make them for the M&P 9, 9C, and Shield. The Blacklist barrel hands down was more accurate than the stock barrel from a bench rest. All groups were tighter and some were amazing...

Shield Apex sear install and test

I did use a roll punch. My trigger is now right at 4 lbs 14oz. I do have the external safety also and use it, so I'm fine with being just under 5 lbs.

Shield Apex sear install and test

The sledge hammer was a figure of speech. I had to use a regular size hammer though and hit it pretty hard. Even when it was almost all the way out, it was still just as hard. Usually these pins push right out by hand or tap lightly, at least on my Glocks they do.

Shield Apex sear install and test

My trigger in my Shield 40 actually was pretty good stock. It felt clean and had a clean break, however, the pull was 6.5 lbs. For $40 I decided to try the Apex sear which alone is supposed to reduce the pull by 1.5 lbs! I installed it today. The steps were very simple, but the process a pain...

    Shield light primer strikes

Did you solve the issue? I have the same issue with my Shield 40. After 200-300 rounds, light primer strikes maybe 5%. Cleaned out the firing pin channel, then worked fine for the next 1000 rounds. Now again light primer strikes, almost 10%. Cleaned channel again, still the same. I don't...

    Shield 40 Magguts Review

Update. I received the replacement kit from Magguts (I exchanged the original one). I ran 65 rounds through it with no issues. I did have an issue loading the last round a few times. It was like something was bound up. Had to unload the mag and then reload. After several reloads it was...

    Shield 40 Magguts Review

I know the 9mm version has been working well. Like you said, the 40 version has a different spring.

    Performance Center Shield Velocity

Has anyone chronographed the velocity on the ported barrel PC Shields? I'm interested mainly in the Shield 40 and how much of a loss there is with the ported barrel. Not much on the internet about it. From the little bit I did find, it sounds like it's not much, maybe 20fps. I have a lot of...

    Shield 40 Magguts Review

I ordered the Shield 40 Magguts the first day they became available a few weeks ago. I have tested factory ammo and reloads in a 7 round mag converted to 8 rounds with the magguts. Sorry to say, I have at least 1 failure to feed on every magazine (bullet nose dive and hits the front of the...

Well 2 weeks later and I finally worked out a deal to buy number 33333. I like it.

Would You Pay More for a Unique Serial Number?

Buds has them for $976 with free shipping, which is what I was going off of. Now there's a dealer on GB starting them at $855 or buy it now for $930. That's with shipping. Last one just sold for $890. So now we're talking like an extra $150 for the local one with cool S/N. These are all new...
