CCW: Keep one in the pipe?

I've been watching theyankeemarshall for a while. tactical butterscotch always makes me smile STOP! I HAVE ALL THE MEANS ON MY PERSON TO ASSEMBLE AND USE A FIREARM! Yeah, that'll save us. [EDIT] I carry one in the pipe, safety on. [Double edit] Does condition one count for striker fired...

Seems Chili’s and Sonic won't be getting

Until this post I liked both for once-in-a-while food. I'll not be heading there again. Carrabba's doesn't seem to care, so they'll keep getting my business.

    Got my new Talon grips!

Any problems with drawing from an IWB holster with the rubberized grips? It seems like that might add some additional friction. I've got a N82 holster that requires a slight clockwise motion to draw.

    Out of battery-

As an added question, to anyone who knows? Will the striker fire out of battery at about the width of the rim? I didn't test it in my house, but will the pistol fire? I know it won't cycle, but if it was the only option, would that one cartridge fire?

    Out of battery-

Great input guys- @peterthefish- i didn't ride it forward, i let go per the slingshot method. @AR-getsome- it seems to work 2/4 times. @scooter89- i thought it would work all the time. perhaps my extractor needs more break-in time. i've only got 100 rounds through the gun so far. @rastoff- i...

    Out of battery-

Guns-n-Ammo poll on best SD round

for a point of reference, there's a great channel on the tubes comparing as much as possible, using the FBI standard 12inch min. Yes, I know, the FBI standard is flawed, but nonetheless, it is a great set of data. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLgNSGOEQko_M90AMdRCDMgd-w4Yozc27i

    Out of battery-

So as i was loading my Shield 9mm for carry yesterday, I decided to skip the magazine in-rack-magazine-out method, and chambered the round manually. What I noticed was a little off-putting. When I released the slide, the extractor did not engage the round, and stayed out of battery . (I didn't...

    Windows 7 vs. XP?

Windows 7, vista, and win8 use the same drivers. so reliability is all essentially equivalent. The main difference is compatibility with legacy software, and ram usage. Windows 8 is incredibly efficient, but the user interface is lacking. 8.1 is an improvement. I've used everything since 95...

    Windows 7 vs. XP?

Win7 is nothing like XP. Win 7 is faster, and more efficient, but requires more ram. the baseline question you should ask yourself is- how much ram do you have. 2g-4g- win 7 will run better, and generally more efficient. past 4gb ram, you have to know if you have a 64 bit processor. There is...

    Can these hurt you?

Centipedes are venemous. Millepedes are not. The picture is a centipede- the easy way to tell is legs per body segment. Centepedes have one pair per segment, and can (rarely) bite and hurt humans. Millepedes have two pairs per segment, and are completely harmless. [edit] they cannot sting...

Can't buy ammo in CT anymore....

Same near me in NC. if they have it in on the shelf, they're more than happy to sell it to you. That said, I've become a fan of Luckygunner- if it is on the site, it is in stock. too bad you have to follow the shipping rules for your state.

    New NC Member

Good afternoon everyone, from North Carolina. I've been lurking here for a couple months doing research, and since I recently picked up a Shield 9mm I thought it was time to register. Posted in a couple threads last night, but forgot to introduce myself. Derrr. So Hi!

How long did it take to get your CCW

North Carolina, Wake county. took about 40 days. I was told up to 90. My wife and I applied at the same time/got them at the same time. Oh, and our county just switched to electronic only applications. can be done online from home, or in person at a Kiosk at the Sheriff's dept.

    m&p ported barrel?

The main benefit of porting lets gasses counteract muzzle flip- letting the sights stay on target longer/ get required faster. Benefits include faster follow up shots and reduced felt recoil, but they can also send unburnt powder onto the front sight, as well as muzzle flash toward the shooter...
