When I get the sr1911 im only looking at 3 makers, TT gunleather, Lobo and Sparks. TTs mikes special is the one in front right now bc of the lower ride. OWB is more comfortable to me and then its hands down Lobo EHP. Its the most comfortable holster ive ever used.

686 or ruger. Itll cost you a bit more but its what youre looking for. check gb and you might be able to get one a little cheaper.

Id highly recommend Ray also. I prefer a pancake but im going to get one of his belt loop IWB holsters. You cant beat his holsters for the price and his customer service is great.

My vote is the Ruger sr1911. Its all steel, based on the model 70 with no block and 100% made in America. Theyre going for at or under $650 now so you could upgrade all the parts and still be at $1k. My next choice would be a DW cbob. That would be my first choice, but theyre not as common...

I tried the 0000 steel wool on the front of the cylinder and the area shown and wont ever use it again. It fell apart and left a mess. Just use hoppes 9, let it sit for a few mins and then use a brush. Get the last bit off with a lead away cloth.

Heres mine. Carrying it in an older hume h900 holster until I get the lobo pancake. I think im going to change the grips to stags if I can ever find some and a t grip.

My vote is for the Ruger sr1911, either size. Best bang for the buck in 1911s right now.
