This is a great choice. Pick it up in 357 and shoot the +P .38spl defense round. Heavy enough that the recoil of a 38+p won't be bad and it an accurate gun. Someone mentioned the Sig P250. I have one in 9mm SC, its a great gun and an easy one to get good with. It's my CC of choice.

It all depends on your eyesight. Lot easier with a red dot at 25 than trying to line up everything through iron sights and bi-focals. Red dot is much faster and repeatable than iron for me.

I bought the 42" version of this from Wal-Mart and it's a great bag. Very tough well made piece and less than 30 bucks.

+1 I bought the one with the 1" riser included at PSA. I am surprised how good it is for the money.

I just did this with my Sport and a Bushnell TRS-25. The TRS wasn't even on paper till I adjusted it using the rear peep looking through the red dot to the front post. Adjusted the dot till it was on top of the post. Fired 3 shots and it was about 5" low and 2" right. Couple more 3 round groups...

Just got back from Dick's sporting goods and they had 120 count ammo boxes of American Eagle 5.56 55 grain on sale for 39.99. 33.3 cents a round ain't bad at a retailer.

I was in the same boat. Their really pretty simple and it will come back to you. Almost every gun has a You Tube how to that will show how to tear your gun down. Google is your friend.
