    Am I crazy? Trade 686 for a 9mm revolver?

Yes you are crazy.the 9mm cartrige is a terrible target choice.it works fine for practical shooting at large targets but it is not even close to .38 spec or .357 mag in the range abd accuracy dept.when the ammo panic sets in again the 9mm will surpass .38 spec in cost.the .357 chambered handgun...

burris fastfire III zero in question

I have always had good luck setting my 6 inch revolvers at 25yds shooting 158gr magnum loads.that will keep you on a full size torso target from 5yds out to 75 yds..38 loads have a little less climb at 25yds but close enough for the same zero.I am getting ready to order the same mount and a fast...

Confused: Are S&W revolver barrels supposed to be canted?

I have noticed some S&W have angled front sites. Not cannted barrels but the insert itself looks like the mold they were made from have more material making the site angle to one side.As far as Ruger and Colt being perfect? I purchased 2 new stainless Vaqueros 4 years ago with serial numbers...

I am very Disturbed by a lot of these reply's.This is a Firearms Forum and this community is supposed to pride itself on ACCOUNTABILITY and knowing right from wrong. But i am hearing a lot of Comments condoning Scalpers buying ammo that they have no intent of using for themselves and reselling it...

Can we all just go back to work now? (M855 ban news)

In your mind it is because you are probably someone who does it yourself? it is far from the same because you purchased the car for personal use and registered it in your name and then sold it.And yes if you purchase a car with the sole intent to RE-sale for profit and you do not report your...

Can we all just go back to work now? (M855 ban news)

You should turn him in if he is not operating under your city or townships Buisness practices Laws and regulations. This is complete nonsense and it is our job as citizens to act when we see shady practice being delt in our communities.Ammunition falls under seperate regulation when it pertains...

Can we all just go back to work now? (M855 ban news)

Well this is what should be regulated if anything at all.If this Clown buys ammunition with the sole intent of RE-SELLING for a profit that is very Illegal. If he wants to sell ammunition he should aquire a buisness License and declare himself to the IRS as a for profit buisness. But no these...

    686-5: Sell, Trade or Hold?

Depends on your personal system? What are you going to use for Home defense?I would argue there is no better Firearm suited for home defense than a .357 magnum revolver. But if your system of thought has you in the Shotgun frame of mind for that POU then make sure you get atleast $600 in trade...

hard to beat simple .... 642-1

I wholeheartedly agree with your assessment of the 442/642 for personal protection.I carried a new production 442-1 for 2 years up until last summer.I sold that little beauty:mad: Not because it didn't carry well but because it wasn't much fun to shoot.I waited for glock to finally release the...

Fair value of 4" 686 used no box, very nice.

I have seen new 686 at local retailers marked at $729.99 to $769.99.Used I would offer $600 and expect to be at $650 after some negotiating.I would be willing to bet that they are only into that Revolver $500

    old 586 vs new586

The New 586 Classic series is a SQUARE but frame so all previous designed grips for the older Revolvers will fit exactly the same.As far as Hammer mounted vs Frame mounted Firing pins? The Hammer mounted pins have a tendency to need replacing with heavy use and they do not hold up to Dry...

    old 586 vs new586

First off you should be able to purchase a New 586 at $699.99 to $739.99 before tax.The new 586 has the key lock and frame mounted firing pin.The grips are quite a bit narrower and the frame has more metal in the hammer area.I am not a fan of hammer mounted firing pins so my vote would go...
