    Sig 226 versus Sig 2022?

I have nearly your exact P226 and I used pau ferro grips, because the original grips have a funny shape right where I grip with my right thumb. I went to a thicker grip (I have big palms and short fingers, the ideal hand for the 226) and I have never looked back. Pretty much my only truly...

What turned out to be the worst gun you've ever owned ???

Colt Commander, slide was lopsided, finished unevenly, galled in back, trigger was terrible. I got it for a real steal though and resold it for more than I paid for it, but it was a disappointing gun. HK USP in .40, way too snappy to enjoy, life got better once I avoided that round. I own...

    The 696 Club

A pair of no-dash Smith and Wesson carry revolvers, from about a dozen years apart. A four inch 686, on stock targets, and a 696 on Ahrends Bubinga for comparison. In truth the 686 is probably the better all around gun, but I do keep the 696 around for snake /trail protection.

    CZ 75b vs. Sig P210

An X-5 is of course a brilliant, brilliant gun in its own right. My P226 is reasonably close in my hands. Is it as tight? No. Can I put 30 on paper at reasonable distances in the time I could shoot nine from my P210? Absolutely, I've shot it a lot, and it is a really good pistol. And...

    CZ 75b vs. Sig P210

The slide release is pretty far forward, I know I cannot reach it with my right thumb one handed. You have to have a pretty long thumb to work the slide that way. The back of the P210 esp with target sights has some sharper edges too, so slingshotting it is not always a picnic. As a pointer...

    CZ 75b vs. Sig P210

The P-210 is not really a great weapon for weapon's sake. A few things just make it very hard to work with....the heel mag release, capacity, the positioning of the safety, the way the sights are usually set. It does have a very nice sight picture and because of its weight it has low perceived...

S&W 696 steal for $350???? (UPDATE on Status)

Hickock 45 is shooting a 696 this week on his site, and that little gun...three inch barrel 44 special and he does not miss his first 15 shots, not until it is a very very long shot to a small target. I have one and it is a very nifty very accurate gun that shoots like a 45 with moderate...

    new 686 & test loads

That just a great 686. My six inch is my best all around target gun.

    357 target load

This, or 5.2 of WSF. 15 BHN lead. I'll dial it up just a tad for 180s.

    Help with Wood Grip ID

Yeah they look like Smith and Wesson targets.

Came across a jug of WSF, never used it before

For revolvers I use WSF for .44 special, light .44 magnum and .357s. It will also load 38s very well, but I use Unique for those.

WHEN YOUR BETTING YOUR LIFE UPON IT

Hmmm. I own a ppk and while it is well made, and I have about a thousand rounds through it, it has jammed on occasion. I don't know if yours is a .380 but in .32 ball ammo and only ball ammo, Winchester white 71 grain is pretty much all you can count on. You had me at Model 19.:D

    My used 686 no dash.

Call them first. They have a test and you may not need the modification. My four incher is a no dash from 1985.

Frustrated and need to vent LOL

Oh no, they can make a revolver. Trust me on that. :D

686-4 Package: Recommendations and suggestions PLEASE

Think the advantage to a dash four is you can rock the seven shot without a lock. The timing is different between the cylinders, so I might pick one....have it set up as either a permanent six or seven shot. What length barrel is that? If is four inches, I think the old school look of wooden...

Sig Sauer P250: the Sigma/SD of the Sig lineup?

Spot on. I love it as a subcompact 45.

Sig Sauer P250: the Sigma/SD of the Sig lineup?

I have it as a subcompact interchangeable with a seven shot 45 or an eleven shot 40 S&W set up as possibilities. I can also run either with a cut down compact frame and have even more capacity. But it excels as a subcompact EDC esp. in 45 intended for close range, with that doa trigger it is...
