    My personal crown jewel

thats funny, but just think, if she says yes you are set for life if you can manage to keep the whole enchilada from sliding off the combo plate. That is a gorgeous revolver. I too am a victim of .357 N frame lust

    Fire as a Weapon

A lit gas bomb, mazeltov cocktail, is a dangerous and deadly weapon and if in range and in fear of death, shoot! If some idiot is stoking a fire in the middle of a riot- you cant fix stupid and unless you think he could throw that fire (pallet, mattress, dumpster) at or on you, you should...

I never hear anything about the m13

I just bought a 13=2 and it shoots within an inch at 50 feet with loads I had for my snub 19. A bargain and a real S&W for less than the cost of a classic with the wind up key. Lets not talk about them TOO much, I still want some more for my kids.

Best bullet puller - opinions please...

I will pass some of this info on to the man that built the original injection molds for the RCBS puller. I am sure they are worn and replaced by now and he built the molds, he didn't design them. Thats the way it is in the toolmaking business, if you want 100000 of something as cheaply as...

APARRANTLY THE DEATH RATE IS DOUBLE WHAT THEY PREDICTED IN THE US!

As an obese, diabetic, former smoker, I just want to say I appreciate those of you that are trying to protect me from a virus that I believe could kill my wife and I if we are exposed to it. As a former firefighter, I want to say I understand that taking risks to earn a living is a fact of life...

What Comes back 1st Ammo Guns?

Already there I think, but what I am seeing is an influx of used safe queens on the market probably put on the block by someone that inherited it and doesn't know enough about guns to realise that grandpas old model 27 is worth more than the two M&P's he or she traded it in for. Prices are high...

    New Quality? (J-Frame)

I have had mixed luck with new S&W, but I understand that in manufacturing it is hard to make as much product as they do without some flawed assemblies getting out the door. Hard, but not impossible. I will say this- stuff happens in assembly, but what really matters is what happens in customer...

Who else carries a wheel gun?

yep everyday. I compete with revolvers and trust revolvers. I feel better with a firearm that has never been part of a disappointing experience like failure to feed or eject or go bang. I know that if you carry a semi you get used to it but I have a constant nag in my brain about cocked and...

    Victory data base

the gun came from a web retailer, but the holster was part of a pair purchased from a retired secret serviceman. I wanted the issued Buchmeir he carried for twenty years and purchased the GI holster he was issued along with it. It was his since the "early 60's". The Holster started me looking at...

    nice low number victory purchase

thanks, military handguns are speeeendy but these victories are kind of a sleeper. Priced right for what they are, it cost me more than I would pay for a model 10, but I do beleive the history will always make it worth more than a 10, even most 14's. In the vault to be pulled out for BBQ's and...

    Victory data base

just received a victory with a 5 digit number: V-70023 The only externally visible markings are a flaming bomb on the butt and a small S added under the crane. Under the right grip I find a larger S and smaller K and an F. The weapon appears all original and is in .38 S&W special. The numbers...

    nice low number victory purchase

I just got a nice low number victory model, V-70XXX with a flaming bomb but no visible inspectors stamps. Fits nicely in an early Viet Nam era issue holster that I purchased along with a Bucheimer combat holster issued to the same person by the secret service later on. There was some confusion...

    Help identifying Pre-V Victory?

sorry guys, I was quoted the numbers from under the crane. It does have a four digit number with no V prefix located there. I was unaware it would carry two sets of numbers, the v prefix that appears every where else and the four digit number that appears only under the crane. I was also told it...

    Help identifying Pre-V Victory?

yeah, I have two pics, a right and left side profile. For all I know it says "made in taiwan" under the barrel and has a "run good/run bad" switch under a grip panel. I could post the pics, but for our purposes just imagine a perfectly squared up (you can see the cone-cylinder gap) right and...

    Help identifying Pre-V Victory?

just asked on line. on the butt I was quoted a four digit serial and again from the cylinder base. Anything is possible but I doubt anyone would add the lanyard, add the visible tooling marks and lesser finish and the plain, worn grips, and then stamp the arsenal mark just for the slight added...

    Help identifying Pre-V Victory?

I have one of these pre V serial number guns on order right now, purchased on line. It has a 4 digit non V number, is correct in all features as a victory with the same numbers on the cylinder and an arsenal flaming bomb stamp. Do you guys think I am correct assuming it was a very early defense...

    CCW gun?

    638. All the time, unless I am somewhere that I can't carry for legal reasons and then it is replaced by a samsung smart phone. I had a first year centennial that I carried for years and never got over wishing I had the option of a single action shot, but always appreciated the lack of the...

    revolver muzzle down reloads

OP here I am not a member of the tri county club so changing ranges isn't a real issue at all, but it is the closest IDPA meet and I will go. I am absolutely convinced that more time on the site picture makes up for reload time by far. drop enough down 3's and you could do your reload with a...

    New Gun Day: 686 SSR

OP here, I shot 200 rounds with it today and all is good again, no FTF. The "stock" wolf spring is bossed just like the "stock" SSR spring but side by side they are noticeably different, the Smith and Wesson SSR spring that came with it being kind of "pre-bowed" in comparison to the straighter...

    New Gun Day: 686 SSR

I put in the wolf "stock" spring today and it is definitely a harder pull but I can't back that up with numbers yet, forgot to bring home my scale from work. I was supposed to compete today but an inch of rain and a wife that wanted to go shopping convinced me to skip the shoot. I will post the...
