Interesting Averages for shots fired in a Self-Defense

I don't disagree with that. However, state police and prosecutors likely will. There is a point in distance when self-defense converges to assault, and most prosecutors focus on 10m. Granted, I've been retired for 20 years, after 23 years in uniform, but weekly range sessions keeps me exactly...

Interesting Averages for shots fired in a Self-Defense

I trained Murphy. Not only did he belong to me for 30 months, I put him on my crew, just to ensure he was...a well trained Murphy. He is an ace at putting averages and other "commonalities" on it's ear! There's a couple state police that shoot with us on Saturday mornings, and they always...

    Not exactly Smithing: Maintaining Stainless

    S&W e series 1911 full size ?

I got the 1911 at the P.X. on 25 June for less than a grand.. Shot it that weekend at the local club and Mike the RS, had the bobtail. The rest is history. I think I got a good deal from Smoky Mountain Gun Works at less than $1.1K shipped to my local FFL.

    S&W e series 1911 full size ?

I got mine at the P.X. for under a grand, making it four bones less than my SA Operator. I'm positive it's as smooth as the Operator and almost as accurate. I love it, and recommend to anybody that can get past the external extractor.

S&W 1911 SC .45 ACP Commander model Question.

I read somewhere it's a 24#. Mine spits brass everywhere. I want to tame that, therefore, I might go 26# if I can find one. As far as stiffness, mine loosened up around 300-350 rounds out. It's not easy, but it's much smother know than when fresh from the box. My 5" is a smooth operator, and I...

    1911 SC

Greets All. I'm not new to 1911. I'm not new to S&W. I am however, new to S&W 1911, especially the SC model. What I've found is it throws brass everywhere & erratically. Looking for a solution. Looking to tame the face pounding, head knocking ejections, and get them to flip up and over into...

    Old Lyman Spartan Press

Lee universal fits just like a glove. Plan on cleaning it up, but not worried about painting, looks good as is. Since it's going to be used as a de-capper, anybody got a home made remedy for a primer catcher? Think it will go just there, on the other side of ol blue:

First Time Disappointed in Dillon Precision

My primary gear is Dillon, and their Life Time BS warranty is just that! But, we can't blame them for S&H. Have you ordered from that Mid Way place lately? Or, any other for profit business recently? I've begun to "extra size" my orders to save S&H costs. No longer do I make monthly orders, all...

    Help with 41 mag

Safety first and always. Here are my two favorite internet guides that supplement my printed manuals. Which by the way, my Lyman 48th edition (2002) calls AA#9 as the best for the 210 gr Jacketed HP. One should have a couple printed manuals and then use the powder manufacturers websites for...

    RCBS Automatic Bench Priming Tool

I can vouch that RCBS CS is awesome. Once I finally got through to them, transferred from that large "Vista" call center over to John @ RCBS! We chatted a bit, and told him about the product and how I acquired it and what was not included. He asked for my mailing address and said he'd get a...

    RCBS Automatic Bench Priming Tool

I won that ^^^ on auction. However, it does not include primer tube(s). The seller says it's many years old (made in USA), but in excellent shape. = More to follow. My question for those of you who have/had/use one, does it require proprietary RCBS tubes? Or, will any standard (Dillon) tubes...

    Old Lyman Spartan Press

Greets All, I won ^^^that in auction. As I understand, it has the old J type shell holder opening? There is a J type to X type adapter at that midway place located on the www. If I can't find a J holder in .357, I understand that the adapter mounts to the ram, then the X-type shell holder pops...

    New question on comparison

I'm back with new experiences and would like to ask a new round of specific questions. I've been to the National Gun Day show, over to the big city, down this highway, and up that one. I have handled what was my favored gun, and have now found two new guns, either of which is perfect. I think...
