Okay, so I jumped off the deep end. I was checking to see if there was any after market accessories for the FPC. I found a website, TACCOM, that had a new buffer end plug. I figured for $15, what the heck.

I got 2 so that I would have a spar. I still have the stock plug. I think I see their reasoning but, I will let you have a look to see if you are thinking the same thing. It is supposed to lighten the recoil.

I will give a range report hopefully this weekend.

I got a chance to shoot my FPC in a steel challenge and found out there are a few things that needed some attention. I had to put a riser on my rail to raise my HS510c red dot up a little more so that I could get my head up a little more. Moved my mag release to the right side hoping that will make my mag changes a little easier and the last thing was dealing with the magazine sleeve spacers. What a pain to constantly re-adjust them. Is there any way to fasten the spacers in place to stop them from sliding up and down the magazines

Super glue on an alcohol-cleaned magazine front and back.

There is kind of the same issue with the CSX and their larger mag. Some have glued the spacer but, I am not a fan of that. You really don't need the spacer. The larger mags will still go into the magwell with the spacer. You might have to worry about getting your fingers pinched.

As for the sliding grip sleeves, I found a solution on Youtube.
I have modified at least 9 of my 12rd CSX mags and so far the fix is working perfectly.
First the video showing how to secure the sliding sleeve to the baseplate.
The pertinent portion of the video begins a the 5:00 mark.

Second I tried using standard Superglue initially and it just would not get a good bond on the type of plastic used on the sleeve or baseplate. Then I discovered another video that suggested Loctite Superglue For Plastic, this is a 2 part Primer/Glue and it has worked perfectly.

I remove the sleeve and baseplate and then glue them into a single unit. After letting the "unit" stay lightly clamped in a vise for 24 hours, I remove the rear portion of the sleeve flush with the end of the baseplate with a cutoff wheel on low speed in a Dremel. The removal of the rear portion of the sleeve allows you to install and remove the now united baseplate/sleeve assembly as needed for maintenance.

Just get some thin adhesive backed sorbothane sheet and cut out a little piece to stick to the magazine body underneath the spacer. Or…if you wanted to get real creative, drill and tap the spacer and get a black nylon set screw to snug it into place.

I had to use a riser for my optic too. I have neck issues. I tried a 1/2" riser first, but it wasn't tall enough.

If I remember right, I have a 1" riser now. With that, I have no neck issues.

Okay, so I finally took my FPC out with the new buffer plug. I didn't switch out the plug on the range so I could get a side by side comparison so to speak but, still didn't think it reduced the recoil that much. Worked without any issues. The FPC really doesn't kick that much anyway.

Thanks for your report. Now I'm interested in the muzzle brakes for the FPC. So far the YouTube reviews of 9mm carbine muzzle brakes in general have had the shooter say, "I think it might help."

But again, I'm not convinced they're effective or needed on the FPC. Thinking 'it might help' remains anecdotal and subjective, so if anyone has experience with a muzzle brake on an FPC, I and many others would like to know.

I got the Odin Works Atlas 9 for about $100. I have noticed a little help. Then again, really doesn't kick that much. I think the Atlas 9 does more that the buffer plug I got. If I cared to go through all the hassle and expense, I think a suppressor would be better.

I noticed that the TandemKross Compensator makes a lot more difference on the FPC than it does on my Ruger PC Carbine. I think that is because the FPC is much lighter at the front. It does help on the FPC and I don't really notice it on the Ruger.

Subjectively, how much difference percentage wise? Any other benefits you've discovered?

I used a small slice of double sided tape , one on each side to hold a x grip to hold the spacer in place onto hold the spacer in place on several longer back up mags over the years .

With the TK compensator I fell like I can get back on target quicker. I can't really put a percentage on it, but the difference is noticeable.

Shooting the Ruger with or without the comp feels the same.

Just checked and it is on its way. Took my FPC out again today and am still blown away by the accuracy that I get. I have an older TRUGLO dot sight that I can change the color and pattern. Slapped that onto the FPC and after several adjustments it was putting big holes on the paper.
