I see many diffrent stocks you can get for an AR15, 15-22. I was just wondering whats the pont of changing one out for another. Thanks.
I like the Magpul CTR for the AR, and have one on my 15-22. The CTR is about twice the price of the near identical Magpul MOE, but the MOE lacks the lock-down mechanism which keeps it from rattling on the tube as many ARs do. That being said, the factory M&P stock is pretty tight.
FYI, the 15-22 has a mil-spec sized tube, not the commercial size. They are near identical, but the mil-spec is just slightly smaller in diameter than the commerical size.
Speaking of the tube storage area... I only discovered it when I removed the S&W stock... wondered.... what is this little tab here... Oh... how cool... a storage area. The S&W manual is incredibly lacking for information about this rifle.
I switched to a Magpul MOE because it's shaped better and stays in place on my shoulder better.I see many diffrent stocks... whats the pont of changing one out for another.
,I didn't like the hollow sound i could hear with my jaw on the stock while i shot so i filled my 15-22 tube with polystyrene packing peanuts just to deaden the sound. works a treat!![]()
