Did any one here have any problems when mounting magpul miad grip to their 15-22? I put one on tonight and the rear takedown pin detent wont catch the rear takedown pin. can can push the pin all the way in or out. It seems that the spring might not be getting enough tension from the back strap of the grip. Anyone else have this problem? Does this happen with the magpul MOE grip?

If you can't find the spring; you can buy a AR15 (12)spring kit for $10-$17 at gunshows or online. I paid $10 at the local gunshow a month ago, and did the 15 minute trigger job.

This photo shows the problem with a non-standard, gee whiz grip. The detent spring is falling into the grip. Recall the detent spring on the M16/M4 is secured by the stock or stock plate on the rear of the lower receiver.

could this hole be tapped, spring shortened, and blocked off with a set screw? much like the actual ar15 rear detent mod.

Sure... It could be done... Also one could mix up a little JB weld and make a fill in for the area where the hole should be.

Or you could just get a Hogue and call it a day :)

i acctually have one sitting in my gun box. It came on my AR-15 I loved it until I felt the miad on a friend's AR. then I put a miad on mine and went for the miad again when i got my 15-22

i read on ar15.com that the grip wedge adapter for ar10/sr25 from magpul will solve this problem too. I believe the detent spring on a AR10 and SR25 are in the grip opposed to coming out the back like an ar15.com and the adapter is on $4 on the magpul site
