M&P 15/22 all I can say is wow
Couple of weeks ago I decided to get a 15/22. I have read all that folks say about them and was a little worried about bad things happening before we got to the range. Loaded 2 mags of American Eagle and it was dead on from the box at 25 yards. A small adjustment and 50 yard groups were great. Then we decided to let the lead fly and see if we would have any ftl, fte, or open bolt problems. 500 rounds and it never missed a lick. Everyone in our group was very impressed with the little gun, and shoulders were not near as sore as when shooting the AR 15 , M 16 and AK 47. I think it is a keeper.

welcome to the club
I love my little girl, she is fun to shoot and inexpensive to boot the only drawback to having to constantly reload mags I am going to have to get the 200 round drum some day

If you use the couple of brands of ammo the 15-22 seems to love to eat the most you should have very few problems of any kind. And yeah, it is the one rifle of my 3 that ALWAYS gets taken to the range. I take it and either my AR-15 or AK47. Then next time out I take the 15-22 and whichever one I did not take the last time.
p.s. welcome to the forums and the world of the 15-22!

I'm in a similar spot. Just got mine a week ago. Seems to like anything CCI. Picked up two boxes of Federal 550. FTE's on almost every other round. The extractor doesn't seem to be able to hold on to the shells. Back to CCI and ran good again.

Add my welcome, 47Ford2N; you made a great choice. I have five 25-round magazines for mine and a range-day means reloading them all a couple of times before we come home. I load CCI with tracer every fifth round (where permissible) just for the memories. The only FTF's I've ever had were due to mis-made ammo (crooked load or a stamping crease across the case in a couple of instances) and I've run some old Remington (1980"s vintage) that even shot nicely. I haven't found it too picky about ammo but then I may not have tried some of the really disgusting stuff that is about; I'm a big CCI fan. Hang on, you are really going to enjoy your new rifle!
Also: I like your taste in tractors, I've always preferred the early N's to the Red-bellies myself though Allis Persian Orange is my first love.

You'll always hear more bad than good because all the "good ones" are out being shot and enjoyed. It is nice to know about the few problems that can happen and be aware of some potentual ones. But remember S&W has the best CS going and DOES take very good care of its customers AND on their dime too.
Most people have zero problems and some just like to complain and nit-pick about small things.

I like these rifles so much I kept progressing through the next model up as they were released, 4 in all. Now I have my favorite one a FDE MOE
model. I've owned a lot of 22s over the decades but this one is my hands down favorite fun gun. They run great and are very accurate, enjoy yours.

Welcome!! I just picked one up myself. Have not gotten out to the range yet as I'm waiting on a few extra mags I ordered from Midway to arrive. We are only allowed to have 10 round mags in NYS so the reloading part kills you.
