Default Innovative Arms M&P 15-22 Integrally Suppressed

After 16 months of waiting, I finally received my Innovative Arms M&P 15-22 Integrally Suppressed .22 rifle. I just brought it home yesterday.

I have had my eye on this baby since April of 2018.

I have ordered a bunch of modifications for it.

- Rise Armament Rave RA-140 SST drop-in trigger

- Next Level Arms ambidextrous charging handle

- Muddy Girl Vinyl Gun Skin

- Ergonomic Pistol Grip (installed)

- Magpul Adjustable Carbine Stock in Muddy Girl camo MAG400 (installed)

- Magpul MBUS2 Front/Rear Sights (installed)

- Sig Sauer Romeo 5 Red Dot scope (installed)

- RW Arms Extended Magazine Release Button

- KNS Precision Anti-Walk Trigger Pin Kit

- Battle Arms Ambidextrous Selector Switch

I’m waiting for the gun skin to arrive to go get the rifle, grip and scope wrapped in Muddy Girl camo, then all of the mods will be installed.

Hopefully I can go sight it in over Thanksgiving weekend.

Integrally Suppressed guns are most cool, but you waited all that time for one suppressed gun.

I bought a 22 suppressor that I can use on my CMMG 22 upper, Savage 22 bolt action, my 10/22, and my 22/45.

I’m ok with that. I got what I wanted. I’m happy with it.

Very nice. Bet it's sweet. BTW the trigger is a Rave XXX and the company name is Rise Armament. Not sure if their RAVE series are rebadged, etc RA-series triggers. More than good enough for your gun.

Is that a one-stamp upper?

That looks like fun.

The 140 was my first "cassette"-style trigger assembly. Very good choice for a moderately-priced upgrade.

After a painfully long time waiting, my rifle has been completely wrapped in muddy girl camo from gunskins.

I had a local car wrap place do it for me and it came out fantastic.

All of the goodies and upgrades are being installed tomorrow night.

Default Innovative Arms M&P 15-22 Integrally Suppressed

And final pics with all the goodies installed.

Updated specs and mods list. The KNS Precision anti-walk pins weren’t compatible with the mag release button so I ended up using the ones that came with the Rise Armament PCC trigger.

Innovative Arms M&P 15-22 Suppressed
- .22 long rifle
- 16.25” barrel length
- Suppressor/Barrel permanently pinned
- $200 ATF Tax Stamp for the suppressor
- Rise Armament PCC Trigger w/ anti-walk pin kit
- Next Battle Ambidextrous Charging Handle
- Muddy Girl Vinyl Gun Skin Wrap
- Ergonomic Pistol Grip
- RW Arms Extended Magazine Release Button
- Battle Arms Ambidextrous Selector Switch
- Magpul Adjustable Carbine Stock in Muddy Girl camo (MAG400)
- Magpul MBUS Gen 2 Front/Rear Sights
- Sig Sauer Romeo 5 Red Dot scope
- M-Lok picatinny rail mount
- Pelican Vault V700 Case

All that’s left to do is get the foam for the gun case laser cut and sight the rifle in. This custom build is complete!!

Sight in should be New Year’s Eve and a stroll for wabbits on New Year’s Day. Innovative Arms M&P 15-22 Integrally Suppressed

Nicely-personalized gun. Congrats. So here I sit in north-central Alabama and it's 3 friggin' degrees. "Wabbit" stew would be very good about now.

IA's are the most quiet of of the integrally suppressed 22 out there. With standard supersonic ammo it is like a pellet gun. Do not use subsonic ammo, it is designed for standard ammo. I have sold a few of them and everyone has been amazed. A customer bought a Ruger takedown upper and it was JUNK! It was loud with subsonic ammo, I told him to send it back to Ruger but he was afraid of the wait. IA's cans are all very good. Enjoy. Be Safe,

I hope you mean "Standard Velocity" -- which is subsonic. A newbie might interpret "standard ammo" to mean readily available high velocity (HV) ammo.

A suppressor is of little help with high-velocity ammo. It will quiet the muzzle blast, but has no effect on the sonic "crack" the HV bullet makes which is as loud - or louder -- than the muzzle blast.

I can't wrap my head around putting that much cash into a AR with a plastic upper and lower.

A couple threads down, someone wrote about their lower breaking. That would be most bad with a class 3 lower. Then there's the thread about the gunsmith breaking someone's upper.

Why not just buy a regular AR lower, and getting a dedicated 22 aluminum upper?

Are you cycling subs ok in this gun?

I generally use Federal Auto Match which states 1200 FPS on the box. This is what the IA's are designed for. You do not need to use "subsonic", at twice the price of standard ammo. The crack is gone, you only here the action noise. Which you can decrease by putting some light foam in the stock, and a very thin "2mm" piece of rubber where the bolt contacts the frame. It is not needed but if you are trying to squeeze every ounce of quiet, you can experment with it. Be Safe,

I have used 10 rounds of CCI quiet, which states 760 FPS on the box. I had myself, wife, a couple of friends also listen and the difference is not really noticeable. I have not shot any Factory Subsonics, since IA's instruction tell you to use standard ammo not subsonics because of the way it is designed. When I fist saw them a few years ago, I called and spoke to the owner about the video of his wife shooting the IA SW 15 and asked if she was shooting subs. He told me no and backed it up with a return policy if I was not happy. I got it, put ears & glasses on and went out into the backyard and tried it. I was shooting at some weeds with stumps behind them, I was not shooting at a paper target. I stopped after 5 rounds because there was no sound, took my ears off and shot at a target at 25 yards, still the action was louder then the gunshot, which is why I have worked to deaden the sound in the hollow points of the stock, and where the bolt comes back. My wife who is a longtime shooter, grew of teething on 1911's, went out with a 50 rd blackdog drum just plinking at the backstop, weeds, etc. Then she came over to me and said there must be a problem, I told her the mag was empty and she said she could not have shot that many,no noise, no recoil, she was amazed and loves hers. I would recommend them highly. Be Safe

Now I understand how one can use high-velocity ammo in the Innovative Arms M&P 15-22 Integrally Suppressed rifle. The overall length of the barrel and suppressor is 16½ inches. But, the "barrel" itself is ten inches long. High-velocity ammo fired through a barrel this length remains sub-sonic. The result is no sonic "crack."

I can’t wrap my head around why you’d even bother to comment then?

I love the rifle and it’s a blast to shoot.
