I shot a steel challenge today, using my M&P22, that has fiber optic sights and the trigger smoothed out. You would not believe how fast that gun could be shot, with zero malfunctions. We have some very fast shooters there, including a state champion, that tried it and their times were comparable to their Ruger/Pac-Lite combos with C-More optics on them. They all agreed the grip was one of the best they've used and pointed so naturally. Quite a few of them are now planning on buying one.

I ran my M&P in our local steel leauge on 3/24 it ran flawless through out all 5 stages. I have a Leoplld delta point mounted to the slide. All internal parts are polished, giving it a 3 1/2 pound trigger pull. Talon grips ( sandpaper type). Also the safety has been removed and pluged with plugs made by another forum member (made by Ryan) I cut 20seconds from last year. I had been shooting a S&W 22a talo deluxe. I also have frog lubed the entire gun twice. Ican tell you this M&P rocks! The next mod will be to have the slide milled to lighten it. So I can shoot lower power practice ammo (bulk) when ever parts become available I want to play around with the recoil and hammer springs.

Question

When you get your trigger internals polished is that a task that most gunsmiths can do? do you just go to them and say i want the trigger polished?

Don't know I have always done it myself. A good gunsmith can do a trigger job but don't know if they polish all moving parts. I did not change the angle of the sear or anything like that just polished all the manufacturing marks and burrs off.

Great! what type of ammo are you using? I have shot a lot of federal bulk and target grade ammo and it isn't that reliable through my mp22. I think it is because of weak charges not cycling the slide all the way.

I shot 100 remington thunderbolt and those were good. Only 1 misfeed stuck on the feed ramp.

Mini mag i shot a few mags and was good.

I only use CCI Mini-Mag 36 grain HP in mine. Shoots the tightest groups and clean burning.
When I did my trigger, I just honed the hammer, where it contacts the sear. Just remove the tool marks, with an Arkansas stone and then wrapped it with 2000 grit sandpaper. Shines like a mirror. Use a very small drop of aluminum anti-sieze on the contact points. Stays put longer than grease. It stains, so don't get it on anything else. Trigger pull is now 3lbs.

How did you mount the Delta Point to the slide and do you have any pictures?

I use my M&P 22 in our local weekly speed steel league. I mounted a C-More STS sight on it using a MAKO mount. Other than the optical sight, the gun is just as it was when I bought it. No modifications at all. I use CCI or Federal standard velocity ammo and it functions perfectly. I recently bought another M&P 22 which I intend to shoot with the stock sights. I continue to amaze myself as to how fast this gun can be shot accurately.

Used the mount that was supplied with the mount kit that was shipped with the site. Use the M&P mount but sand the leading edge with some 320 grit sand paper till it slips into the dovetail it has a set screw so you don't have to be perfect !

Thank you! I'm all over that.
