Shield 9mm Holsters
I am picking up my concealed carry permit and my brand new 9mm Shield in the next couple of days. I live in Costa Rica so the gear available is limited or it has to come from the US. I am looking for feedback on the Sneaky Pete holsters. I intend to carry in a soft holster tucked into my waistband but feel a inconspicuous external holster is a good thing. Thanks for your input and thanks in advance.

If you do a forum search with Sneaky Pete Holster as the key words, you'll find quite a few threads here and in the Concealed Carry Sub-Forums.
Many seem to think that the SP 'Screams' "GUN"... But to someone NOT into guns, they probably wouldn't give it a second look (Like with CC Fanny Packs that have a Velcro Section).
The thing is, the size needed for a Shield would be pretty large. They're also not THAT easy to QUICKLY access and Draw from.
How common are Fanny Packs in Costa Rica? If they're a common site and you want an external way to carry, that might be an option to consider.

Sneaky Pete
Fanny packs are common here as it's an eco destination but I'm not crazy about them. Cell phone cases, buck knife cases, etc. are common here. I've read positive reviews about them but I'll have to wait till I visit family in the U.S. That should give me time to evaluate different situations and holsters. Thanks for the input.

For me the shield is too big for comfortable pocket carry. Perhaps in big bulky cargo short type pockets, for for slacks or jeans, no way.

First Welcome to the group! Congrats on getting your permit!
My 2 cents! Not a soft holster but look at the Alien Gear Holsters They carry well ! I have the IWB and OWB
Concealed carry holsters | IWB and OWB | AlienGearHolsters®
Also I got a E bay A Jel Tec kydex holster. small and carries my Shield real nice

I agree. I use my S&W Bodyguard 380 for pocket carry. I find the Shield too big for pocket carry.

Good for you, CONGRATS! When you get your CWP its a great feeling. My buddy should be receiving his soon & brings it up everyday at work, haha. I've had mine now for a year and a half.
A few weeks back when I bought my Shield I got a outer carry by Tagua Gunleather. I'm more than happy with it.

I have a Sneaky Pete for my Shield and I carry with it most of the time. I am quite happy with it. It's about the size of a small Kindle so when people ask I tell them it's my Kindle. The one concern I have with it is that it does attract attention and if I was in a high crime area I would be concerned that the bad guys would pull a gun on me just to get it because they thought it to be some sort of electronics.

Sticky Holster, $25 from Amazon. This holster can be worn in any position under your belt inside the waist band or in your pocket. The surface of the holster is made from the same material as the gloves used by NFL players.
It just grips where ever you put and stays put. This is without a doubt the best carry concealed holster I have ever used.

I can't believe no one has told you about the N82 This is a great IWB holster . Very comfortable and well made.
I also have a Sneek Pete in Alagator skin. It looks like a man purse

Check out their website.
Also, go find their YouTube video on how to re-holster -remove the holster, insert the gun into the holster and put the combination back into your waistband. It gets easier as you do it.
Oh, and it works as a dandy pocket holster too...

Galco King Tuc Hybrid IWB holster for the Shield. Hands down the most comfy concealable IWB holster I have used with the Shield as well as with my Glock 27.

Man, so many choices and as many opinions. I can't tell you how much I appreciate all the input. I get my permit next week and then I can go pick up my Shield at the gun shop and will get whatever is available based on his forum. Many thanks.

Everyone has their favorite holster, and feel theirs is the best. I have carried a gun for over 30 years and found that the best is a close fitting OWB holster and leave you shirt tail out. Buy oversize shirts and be comfortable. You can access it quickly and don't have to do too much to get it out.
There are many manufacturers who have these but you want the close fitting style sometimes know as a pancake holster that has belt holes at both ends. This pulls the gun against your body with a good belt.
I personally use a Desantis Mini Slide for my Glock 43. They probably also have a Shield version. I am not a fan of IWB but many people prefer them.
Enjoy your Shield they are nice guns.

I wear this in the 4 o'clock position perfectly tucked. . 0% printing. . I was the type who thought that leather hoisters were BS. I thought this without ever owning one.. this is my first introduction to them.. and i have to be honest. . I will never go back to kydex. .
First impression very (unbelievably) soft on the skin..
second... for the price 23$ off ebay.. ez win. . .
3rd.. adjustable angels. . Imma fat guy and im very comfortable setting down with this in my carry position ....
4th..tuk my shirt in whilst in the waistband carrying. .... only downside is the name is printed on the belt loop band.. now when ever i see a belt loop band just sitting there as if nothing in hanging from it.. i look for the hoister logo.. as im sure cops (bad and or good) do.... its not necessary but i tend to keep that side of my body away from eyesight anyways . . Again this is not needed. ......
5th.. the retention when not looped in belt. And tucked inside the waistband sucks.. but thats to be expected for leather hoisters when compared to kydex.
i will still say desatis has a customer for life. ....
Picks below of my carry method and position and how it looks when fully tuked.. keep in mind everything below the belt is unseen

I have a Remora which is great and just last week I ordered a Rawdogtactical.com which I should receive Tuesday. It has all kinds of good reviews and it was only 44.95 with shipping.

You need to check out the Black Mamba CE from Concealment Solutions. VERY comfortable and hand made for the Shield. Recommended to others and they're all happy! Black Mamba CE
