Hey all! just wondering if any 2.0 owners have taken your strikers out to find that the new pink striker channel liner is actually loose in the channel?? when I say loose, I mean that it is able to freely slide back and forth in the channel.
I was under the impression from various sources that striker channels were supposed to be kind of tight. Not so tight that you have to have an arbor press to install them but tight enough that they don't move. All my older M&P's with the white striker channels are in pretty firm and all my glocks as well.
My 5" FDE 2.0 9mm had this "loose" channel liner right out of the box so I just called today to send it in and have it redone. Then to my suprise I just picked up a black 4.25" 9mm and its the same way.
I had called S&W about it when I first discovered it on my FDE and they said that "they're usually pressed in but if its not causing any problems then its ok". Well, I do get light strikes when I use NATO ammo and I'm wondering if this could have anything to do with that?
It seems to me that if the channel liner is moving along with the striker, that it could slow down the the inertia of the striker causing light strikes. Or if the liner is moving it could potentially bind up ever so slightly.
what do you guys think?? anyone have this issue or any experience with this kind of thing on another platform? Thanks!!
