Apex Trigger Upgrade

Hello,
I am looking to upgrade the trigger on my Smith & Wesson Performance Center M&P 9mm Shield EZ M2.0.
I contacted Apex directly and this is what they said "Thank you for your interest in our products, unfortunately we do not offer any products for the Shield EZ line of firearms"
Honestly I find that had to believe, can anyone tell me if there is an upgrade in the Apex line that will work. Maybe not for the EZ, but perhaps the M&P 2.0?
Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

The Shield EZ is a very different design, and I don't understand why they call it a Shield at all.
I also have trouble understanding what exactly you want to change on the EZ trigger. A hair trigger on its single-action mechanism is not advisable, IMHO. You can't see it when assembled, but the EZ has a hammer and firing pin, not a striker.

Thanks for the reply, I don't really want a "hair trigger", as much as I want to get rid of all that unnecessary take up travel. However, if the trigger pull is reduced a bit, that would also be great.

I had the same trigger issue as I worked on my daughter’s new EZ 380. I could live with the long take up as it is a form of safety for the first trigger pull. Not a bad idea for the target consumer for this gun. What bothered me more was the typical factory grittiness at the wall, and the uneven and inconsistent break. Over travel was also a little long and noticeable. I decided to do a polish job on trigger components.

When I peered down into the frame and saw the flat coil hammer spring, I decided not to take it apart. I went the 800 dry fires while watching tv over a few nites route.

With the slide removed and my left thumb on the cocked hammer, pulled the trigger, and caught the hammer a half inch above its release. I pushed the hammer back down to reset and repeated the process. You can do about 40 pulls a minute, easy, without looking or paying too much attention. I did about 200 pulls a nite for four nites.

The trigger is now extremely good. When it hits the wall, it pulls smoothly through to a clean, predictable break at around 5#. I don’t notice the over travel any more.

In short, once broken in I would not bother with any aftermarket trigger for an EZ. I have installed Apex triggers in 8 S&W striker fired pistols for myself and friends. I really like them, but if they are not needed (and therefore not offered for the hammer fired EZ system), I recommend you not worry about it..

Just perform an accelerated break in.

CB3 is right. There is no needs to upgrade trigger on M&P EZ Performance Center. This trigger is already great.
Just give the handgun some time and you will see how nice it is.

Apex is awesome once installed on M&P M2.0 (regular one) and you cannot compare this one with EZ Performance Center... and yes.. APEX is much better ;-)

Outstanding recommendation. I just started doing it on the new 380 I picked up for my wife (and me). It seems to be getting better that it was at the range. We just put 30-40 rounds through it ... my wife had never fired a gun before so it was a big deal ... but I didn't like the trigger. It feels like it is getting better with just another 40 "break in" moves as described. Will do a couple hundred before we go to the range again. Thanks !!
