Question concerning mounting the Pearce magazine extension on a Shield Plus
Greetings!
I recently purchased a S&W M&P Shield Plus 4" PC and found it helpful to install the Pearce +0 magazine finger extension. I am having a minor issue installing these extensions and getting the locking bump to engage the locking cut.
Has anyone here tried to install this extension on the 10 round magazine and found that you need to either trim the locking plate or open up the back of the locking hole?
As always, thanks in advance for your help!

Position the Pearce Grip Extension (PGE) to where it lines up. Grab the upper magazine with your strong hand and whack the PGE end of the magazine on the heel of your opposite hand. Repeat as necessary.
I dont own a Shield Plus, but this worked on several of my M&P's magazines (380 BG, 9mm & 45 Shield 1.0, 9c).

I had the same issue with the Pearce extension. No matter what I did, it wouldn't seat properly. After some judicious filing of the opening with a jeweler's file the problem was solved.

If you haven't resolved this yet, take the mag back apart, and put the lock plate on the extension and see if the "bump" fits easily. You shouldn't have to push it in. The make sure the plate looks centered and square when compared to the fit on the stock base plate.
Sometimes when I reassemble a mag, the plate won't lock in. I just smack the mag against my other palm, rotating the mag to hit all sides until it pops in.
