Default Anyone get the M&P Carry Comp Compact?

Talking about the poly framed non-Shield version. Anyone have one? Anyone carry it? How do you like it?

Hum . If your corn-fused about the handgun model add the SKU: number .

I have a m&p compact 4" 9mm optic ready and with thumb safety and find the added weight of this model makes for a flat shooter as it is with out the added comp . I have fired other ported and compensated handguns in the same size and weight and larger and do not find a need for a comp version in this pistol .

You might watch on You Tube Nightwood Guns review of this model to help you with your decisions . I also have a lighter hellcat pro Comp and with that model the same comp design as m&p uses does make for a flatter shooter and it cost far less money !! I am a m&p pistol guy and also have a m&p 2.0 5" ported pc model in 40sw and with underwood loads you notice far less recoil and snap .

BBMW Since your not confused if you had listed the sku: to begin with the "non-shield version" was just not needed , right . Now you can decide if you really want to spend the money on it .

That's the point of the thread, to see if anyone else has bought this model and what they think of it.

I don't own 1, but I rented & shot 1 & it was AMAZING. For perspective, I EDC a Shadow Systems MR920P, which I LOVE. But after renting the CC Compact, I gotta admit, I have to give the slightly edge to the M&P as far as how soft/smooth/flat it shoots. It's on my list of smaller ported/comped guns that I'm looking at to become the wife's EDC & my travel gun.

If I end up going with the M&P, I'll probably end up grabbing an Eleven 71 Design plate for the Holosun 509T & put that optic on it, as well as a TLR-7X. It's a hell of a gun.

Looked at it and the Shield Plus carry comp...based on length and weight I decided on the Shield Plus carry comp for everyday CC.
They are ALMOST the same gun with a few size differences.......

Mine has been flawless and the shot groups are tight If you get one you will love it no doubt......

Here is the Shield Plus carry comp at 10 and 15 yards....and this is with 78 year old eyesight and glasses.

I preferred the hell cat pro comp over the shield + CC . The hellcat standard mag is 15 rounds and has a higher grip on the frame over the shield for more hand on the grip .

Since the larger M&P carry comp compact is still rather new forum reviews will be limited . Some of the more neutral you tube reviews also found the hellcat pro comp had less muzzle flip and better accuracy control over the heavier m&p larger carry comp compact model and I do have a normal 4" m&p compact to compare size and accuracy too .

Always better to take the time to find info on the model your interested in to read and make up your own mind as this is a m&p forum so the majority here would typically say Yes buy the m&p , buy the handgun your asking about but that handgun is rather new to the market still .

Would the CC be worth an extra $150 over the standard 2.0 compact. I can get the CC for $715 OTD and a standard 2.0 compact for $585 OTD

Gun will primarily be CCW and read mixed reviews if the comp is worth the extra money.

I have both, shield plus carry comp and regular 2.0 carry comp. Other than thickness…with a 13 round mag in the shield plus, they’re dang near identical in every other size aspect. I bought the shield plus for myself for ease of carry when I don’t feel like lugging my C2. I bought the 2.0 carry comp because the old 9c compact my wife shot just never got used.

Do I think the comp is worth it? Sure…
In being 100% honest.. I like the look/feel of the serrations on the carry comp 2.0 better than the non comp. Does the comp make a difference? A little. Hundreds of dollars worth? No. Less than $200? yes. For me.
I like the grip texture/size on the 2.0 carry comp, and I have 2xl hands. But the slim feel/weight of the shield is nice as well.

I carry the 2.0 once in a while, but it’s only because I have 4 in my rotation…and between my C2 and Shield Plus…it’s the middle child LOL.

Great shooting pistol, I just switched an Apex kit to an Overwatch kit in mine. Nothing I don’t like about this pistol, zero failures, closing in on 1K rounds through it.

I have a mp 2.0 compact 4" 9mm with thumb safety and the 10 round mag (not a shield). I really like it, ex mil being used to 1911 so the ts was by choice. It carries easy i like the lighter weight and slimmer butt of the 10 rnd model. Quick to draw and accurately fire. I load 125's and it goes to point of aim. If you have larger hands the larger capacity would probably be a better fit. I would recommend you handle and if possible shoot the one you are interested in before you buy.

10 round mag compact 4" ! You must live in a mag compliant state as the frame size is the same as the compact 15 round standard model .

I carried a 45 cal lw commander for the last 36.5 years and have 10 more shooting a 1911 5" but found split times where getting slower along with mag swaps .. Old age and 2 hand surgery's construction related , maybe .

Any how I carry a older full size m&p 4.25 40sw now but have a m&p 15 round 9mm 4" compact with thumb safety and optic ready that maybe a future CC . I like the m&p pistols . I do know with the small grip insert it is the same width as my my wifes older CC a kimber 9mm ultra 1911 and the ultra is liter too. For a short barrel 1911 it's easier to shot as good or better groups with oddly.

Might add a stan lee magwell on it and carry it some around our property as I am not yet a 9mm guy. . Granted a 10 round mag makes it is taller than my m&p compact but the 9 round mag for carry would be fine for most carry needs like a dinner date with the wife .

I did add a apex fst trigger kit to my m&p compact so its more like my old 191's short reset 3.5lb trigger or my wifes kimber . Choices choices !
