I see Matrix Diversified Industries is putting out hydro dipped MagPul kits, but I have never heard of them before. If you shop around, you can find a kit for under 200 bucks, which isn't bad if the parts are actually all made by MagPul.

Has anyone seen one of these in person that can give their opinion on the quality? They come in various colors/patterns.

I'm hoping someone can vouch for this company and say they're using real magpul parts. I'm not finding much in the way of reviews online so I'm thinking this is a new product. One good thing is that a lot of reputable retailers are selling these kits, but I hate to be take a chance without asking around first.

While they're not for everyone, I have to admit I like the look of some of the kits.

That price seems very low for genuine Magpul parts. Another way to go, if you already have the parts, is dip them yourself. Kits are available online, and I've seen a number of posts on our local shooting board from guys who have done their own. Even the metal parts get coated if you want, and it doesn't appear to be difficult at all. Basically a bathtub and clean water is all you need to provide.

I've seen the kits in person but have not handled or examined them out the package.

IMO they are MAGPUL product and this kit is legit. The package label states MAGPUL collaboration...I forget the actual wording or I would quote it here.

I myself plan on purchasing the 'High Desert' kit for $183 when it's in stock again...looks like they are in stock now...I'll let you all know if they are MAGPUL for sure...after I get mine.

Oh here is a related article...

That article is written in a way that would
make a newbie AR fan like myself believe all the parts
were made by Magpul.(whoever they are) : )

You might take a look over on the 15-22 forum and search it. Been awhile back, but some one had done something just about like that. It turned out REALLY nice.

I'm wondering how well it holds up under use. IF it's got a MagPul logo,I would think it would hold up more than well.

They are real magpul parts. I've seen them in person. Not a fan of the patterns ive seen, but they do have one kit that is just all black with no pattern.

Saw These kits at local LGS. The package was from Magpul. They had five different kits but the back panel showed 12 different colors. The price was $273.

When it comes to accessorizing your AR, your mind can change like a leaf blowing in the wind, lol.
In the end, I decided to go with FDE MagPul parts. Perhaps someone else here will be a Matrix kit and let us know how the quality of the hydro finish is.

Wow $273. you basically end up with an MOE rifle. Hmmm. I suppose of you are a tactical shooter it would be cool but as soon as you free float the barrel the handguard is gone. I think I would build my rifle and then dip it myself.

You can find the kits for almost 100 bucks less if you shop around. At under 200 I think they're worth looking at as the parts alone are well over 100 dollars.

There are shops who can hydro dip your entire rifle for $273 bucks so anything close to that price and you might as well go all in.

I agree. If you are gonna dip some accessories I would go all in a dip the rifle, they look pretty cool dipped, plus you can choose a color instead of just a print!

The kit that i thought was all black was actually the snake skin pattern. the pattern was so light it wasn't noticable unless you looked at it in the right light. My LGS had the kits for $225. I'm really on the fence about buying one.

I should be getting the High Desert kit in 3 days or so...actually got 2 of them. After shipping cost they were almost $200 ea. Still cheaper than some of the prices some of you guys have posted.

UPS tracking shows package arriving 20 March. I'll post photos of individual items and kit on rifle/s.

Pictures of M&P 15 MOE FDE rifle before and after MATRIX KIT parts put on it below. I couldn't swap the hand guard, since kit has carbine length and mine requires mid length. Also, sompe pictures of M&P 15-22 with same color kit parts.
