Just attempted to install my Magpul STR Stock. The Stock is mil-spec so it should have been fairly easy to slide on. Well, The Dummy round they had included to help install it is now broken. I just can't seem to get the button to depress just far enough for the stock to slide on. Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Just attempted to install my Magpul STR Stock. The Stock is mil-spec so it should have been fairly easy to slide on. Well, The Dummy round they had included to help install it is now broken. I just can't seem to get the button to depress just far enough for the stock to slide on. Any Suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I had the same problem. I used a small flathead screwdriver to elevate the button and it worked. Hope it works for you as well!

I had the same issue installing the STR on my Daniel Defense. That dummy round is a piece of junk! I used a flathead as well but used it on the outside pin instead of where they tell you in the instructions. You Tube to the rescue

So that's what the dummy round was for! I really had no idea. I've always just used a blade. Good to know...

Did the instructions say to use the dummy round? I don't have this stock and I would have assumed the dummy round was just some marketing swag.

Yes they say to use it lol. Rule of thumb before installing anything is to visit YouTube and learn from others mistakes heh

The guy on the youtube video seemed to have no problems doing it
Yeah after 100 takes probably lol...I found the one with dude using screwdriver on outside pin....works like a charm

I have 4 Magpul stocks and love them but why do they have to make them so hard to put on and take off!!!!!
