What are considered a good scope or red dot for use on a rifle with A2 front site? I want to make sure that i can get a line of site over the site post.

Any ideas?

I assume you are want options for an AR-15 type rifle with A2 front sight. I think the Vortex SPARC AR red dot is an excellent choice for a carbine. You can mount it to be lower 1/3 coexistent with a Magpul MBUS and the A2 front sight. Here's one mounted on a Colt M4.

Any red/green dot unmagnified optic can be mounted co-witnessed or lower 1/3rd co-witnessed with a standard A2 front sight. With a dot optic, you should be focusing on the target, not the dot, with both eyes open so the front sight is not an issue.

With a telescopic sight, I would look into a folding front sight to keep the mounting height reasonable. AR front sights are pretty easy to replace, or can be removed entirely and replaced with a gas block to allow use of a free-float forend which opens up all kinds of options.

I don't want the A2 front sight to be in my field of view reguardless if it in the bottom quarter of the lens with any optic so I would ether replace the gas block and add flip up sights . Ether to the railed gas block or handguard with a rail .

stringpicker, a magnified optic, usually 3x and up, will leave a slight ghost image… much like the nose on your face. It’s there but you pay it no mind. I have Primary Arms 1x, 2.5x, and 3x optics with the ACSS reticles on several rifles and they suit me just fine, here in Georgia.

I have a Vortex Spitfire 1x on my M&P15X which works excellently.

The reticle sits just above the front sight.

Came here to say that, pretty much. Back when practically all ARs came with fixed A2 front sights and replacing gas blocks wasn't yet common, I had a lot of customers come to me about mounting scopes on their rifles. I usually kept a set of pic scope ring bottoms on hand that I could pop on their gun, then rubberband a scope on. Above 3-4x, you could mount a scope right in back of that front sight and at most you'd see an easily ignored blur.
