+2 base pads, 5906?
Looking for +2 base pads (metal) for 5906.
Been looking but can't find any.
The ones used for 69**, will they fit and still be flush?

I'm a bit confused by your question.
You may already know this, but the so-called "+2 base pad" is actually just an adaptor that will allow you to use 5906 magazines in the shorter 6906, without a gap in the grip area. They do not add any capacity to the 5906 magazine. The name comes from the fact that the early 5906 magazines held 14 rounds, while the standard 6906 magazine held 12. By using a 5906 mag with the adapter, the 6906 could have "+2" rounds. By using a later version 5906 magazine, which holds 15, it's actually a "+3" adapter.
So are you looking for the 5906/6906 grip adapter, or are you looking for replacement base pads for your 5906 magazines?
The grip adapter can be purchased from http://www.precisiongunspecialties.com/ or by contacting the S&W store at 1-800-331-0852 and ordering part #242120000 (around $8 each).
The magazine base plates can be found at various online gun parts dealers, such as http://www.e-gunparts.com/productsch...odel=1980z5906. Brownells and the S&W store should be able to hook you up as well.

The S&W mag tubes use base lips that are turned in, mag extensions will not work on them. The +2 offen referred to on 6900 series was originally use on the Shorty-Forty so you could use full size 11rd mags in place of the 9rd. They also fit the 5900 15rd to match the grip on the 6900.

Make sure when you order them from S&W that you remind the order taker that it is a 2 piece part. Spacer AND new floorplate. They shipped me just the spacers. The spacers work with the early stool floorplate, but not the later plastic ones that my mags use.
They are usually out of stock, and may take a month or two to ship FWIW.

But the S&W adapters won't work with them. HOWEVER, KelTec makes a P-11 9mm that can use a S&W 59 or 69 series doublestack mag, and they sell spacer sleeves that will work with a little grinding. I have both the 59 and the 69 sleeves for my P-11. I don't recall which would fit a 59 mag in a 69 best. I can check if you care.

I need/want more capacity and the gun must still fit the IPSC-box.
Mec-Gar's 17 rnd doesn't fit the mag well beacause of the outside lips(but will fit the box).
I need to modify the 15 rnds or swap the mag well.

Swapping the mag well is about the only thing that can be done for more capacity. I was looking for a similar solution. The 20 round mag will not fit the box. Removing the mag well for the 17 round mag would be about the only way to add capacity to the maximum.
I think IPSC max mag length is 138mm & USPSA is 140mm.
I wish there was an aftermarket part for those mags to reach 140mm & max capacity.
It doesn't look like the Kel Tec grip extension adds any rounds, does it?
If you find anything that gives more rounds in a magwell 59 series Smith I would be interested. I started shooting another gun in USPSA because of this issue.

I notice that the guys that shoot both Limited and Limited 10, that their scores aren't very differant. The 5906 really fits best in production class and it has a 10rd limit. Do you run into that many stages that you need 15+ at one position anyway.

A PC5906 is SA so that means standard in IPSC.
No max lenght (only in Open, 170mm) but must fit the box.
A bit annoying to see 2011-shooters do one reload where I have to do two just to get that last target.

My comment about the KelTec sleeves was/is with respect to the fact that they are an alternative to the S&W sleeves, and the floorplate isn't an issue. Someone researching the "+2" adapters in the future may find the info useful.
If you want to look into a +1/+2 floorplate/spacer that MAY work, KelTec made an extension for their P40 mag, which has the same body as their P11 mag. So, it might fit on a MecGar S&W mag. MecGar makes the KelTec mags. It is +1 on a .40, and a +2 in a 9mm P-11

...And they are extremely good magazines. Mec-Gar magazines are the only aftermarket magazines that are as good as OE magazines: because they make the 'factory' magazines for Sig, Beretta, CZ, and others.
The 17 round Mec-Gar magazines are flush fit, and do NOT have weaker springs to make more room for the extra rounds. The springs are very robust, and the magazines have a lifetime warranty from Mec-Gar.
If the magazine spring gets weaker over time from heavy usage, they will send you a new one.
They are available many places; you can get them here:
Smith & Wesson Mags
They are $23.99/ea. plus shipping.
I highly recommend the magazines, as well as CDNN. I've purchased from them several times in the past 2 years, and every times the transaction was flawless, and the shipping well above 'average' for speed, as well.

17 is not an option, doesn't fit the mag well.
The MecGar's are good but not all rainbows. The followers break and I have not yet had any luck finding replacement parts for them. I have mailed all MecGar e-mails I could find with zero replies.
Fortunately S&W followers fit and easy to get hold of (if You live on the right side of the pond).
Pic of MecGar 17rnd (left) and 15rnd (right).

That is not the experience I have had with Mec-Gar service at all. I had a floor plate break and two magazines that would not feed the last round. They replaced all three with no charge. I don't recall if they paid shipping or not.
This was Mec-Gar USA at the AOL email. They were extremely quick & courteous.
Thanks for the clarification Racer X. I am curious about that floorplate/spacer.
