I need to replace the ejector on my 4006.

Where to find one?

Thanks!

Indeed, send it to S&W let them take care of it under your lifetime warranty. they even send the call tag!

Even if I bought it used?

Pardon my stupidity but what is a "call tag"?

(is it rather called an extractor?)

I have e-mailed S&W, waiting....
How long does it usually take them to respond or should I call them?

thanks

I would call them, email responses can take a long time.

The extractor is on the right side of the slide - it pulls ("extracts") the case out of the chamber.

On the way back, the case lip hits the ejector lever which is in the left side of the frame, it's one of those levers you have to push down to get the slide back on. This lever stops the case from going back any further, and the continuing pull of the extractor flips the case up and out to the right.

Yeah, I know. I was just poking fun at my blunder at calling the extractor an ejector.
But there is the "ejector port" LOL

thanks!

:D It's hard to see those sly grins in print! :D
Sometimes it's hard to tell when there's a joke in play.

Really, give S&W support a call, it will be much faster.

Repaired!

Well, I sent the pistol off to S&W and got it back in one week!
They replaced the extractor for free!

I shot 100 rounds through it today and had one failure to feed.

I'm thinking the spring is bad with one of my mags so I ordered 3 new springs from Wolf for replacements.
