I was wanting to know how much does a 10mm cartridge weigh the hole assembly; bullet FMJ 180gr, case, powder, in grams. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I ask because im doing fully loaded calculations on 10mm pistols. Thanks.

Here are some weights in grains
Remington Case nickel no primer large primer pocket wt. 71.6 grains
Federal case brass no primer large primer pocket wt. 68.8 grains
Federal case brass no primer small primer pocket wt. 69.4 grains
Winchester case brass no primer large primer pocket wt. 69.8 grains
CCI large pistol magnum primer wt. 4.6 grains

Powder charges can vary vastly...based on powder type and loading.

If you suspect a double drop and are tring to sort it out it may or may no show itself. if this is your goal, get a kenetic bullet puller!

Loaded 180 gr bullet over 10.5 grains powder = 266.8 grains or 17.28835 grams. But powder charges can and do vary!

thank you so much shadow1006. No it was not a reloading issue, just interested in the assembled weight of standard 10mm auto ammo is all, for fully loaded pistol calculations. I already know 9mm is 12 grams, .40s&w is 14 grams, and .45acp is 21 grams. So now i know 10mm auto is 17.28ish grams. Thanks.

10mm rounds are not bad on weight, as you have seen from your figures. The real issue with the round is the length, requiring a 45 Auto sized frame. Manufacturers are really doing some impressive things with the .40 S&W cartridge these days. 10mm for me is a niche cartridge, I have no need for it other than that it's interesting to load and shoot from my Delta Elite. If I needed a .40 caliber pistol for self defense or some other useful purpose, it would be a .40 S&W, likely a Glock 23.

Thanks every one for posting your answer to my odd question. I have had this question on a few other forums, and there as expected was alot of variance in the answers. But the general consensus, after a number of posts, for the weight of a standard 180gr 10mm auto fmj in grams is, 17.28+/- grams. Thanks.:)
