SW22 Victory not ejecting

CCI mini-mags work well for me. As long as they have at least 1200fps at the muzzle. That seems to be the cut off for my SW22.

I'm having the same issue on mine I picked up at the beginning of the month. I've tried various different Ammo. All seemed to experience it once per magazine at least.

For those that sent it back to S&W how long did it take to get back?

My Victory took 3 weeks the first time it went back. Currently at S&W again for the same problem that wasnt fixed right on first trip. Hoping for a better result when it does return to me. Been appx 2 weeks now

Thanks. I'll try giving them a call. Have two big state steel matches in June and our local club's speed steel championship next month. So hopefully can get it back in time if I end up sending it out.

Alright just got done chatting with a rep, their current turnaround time is 4 weeks. They're sending me a label. Puts me a little close to the local club championship but I'll just run my rifle (M&P 15-22) for that one, took second overall with it yesterday out of 80 guns.

Just had same issues with my new victory not ejecting / stovepiping despite initial cleaning / lube. Disappointed as I have several Smith's and never had a problem, took a long time to find in my LGS. Customer service immediately sent return label, so I'm hopeful...

Shooterdms Welcome to the Forum, sorry to hear you are having problems with your new pistol. I am sure S&W will be able to find out what is causing it and correct it in very quick time for you. Pics of any new gun always are WELCOME on here as well.

Thanks, as it is currently in a Fed Ex box en route for repair, I'll post it with hopefully a positive outcome.

SW22 Victory

Bought SW22 Victory from BGS KY about 4/29/16 for my YL (young Lady). Cleaned and lubed, took out to the range first time 5/19/16. Was expecting joyful experience but instead got stovepipe every 2nd shot using Fed High Power (1260 fps) so changed to CCI minimag (1235 fps) same issues for 40-50 rounds total. Called S&W, they said shoot for another 200 rounds if the problem persists then call them again. Is this a rash of issues on 2016 SW22 Victory or know problem? Would appreciate any advise on the root cause, eg. is the Pin not bent enough or bent the wrong way or ???
Here's the solution: Bend the ejector pin into the case path by about 0.5 to 1.0 mm. Took it to the range and now the SW22 Victory will take any cartridge sub sonic or super sonic Federal or CCI - Problem solved

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Mine was purchased on 1/20/2016. My LGS guy gave me the lowest s/n he had.

and welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear of your current issues, those look to be a nice gun.
Did you clean the gun before shooting it? Some new guns are pretty gunked up and need the slide area cleaned and properly lubed.
Did this issue start right away or after 50 or so rounds?
Karl

This is certainly the first thing to look at. My SW22 was actually sticky from all the shipping/protective gunk. ANY new gun should be properly cleaned and oiled before firing the first time. My Victory was worse (or better protected?) than usual. I have put around 500 rounds through it without a single problem. I have always been a Ruger MK shooter and have owned a number of them. The Victory shoots better than any stock MK I have owned and the ease of takedown makes it a no-brainer for comparison. I think I am on my way to loving this little gun. Good job SW.

This thread is very helpful, especially the photos showing precisely what to bend to improve ejection.

I had to send my Victory 22 back to S&W since the extractor disappeared along with the empty shell of my first round fired. When it returned from S&W it didn't run well. I detail stripped it and found excess oil on the bolt and in the trigger assembly. I hosed all the heavy oil out, sprayed a bit of Remoil in and the gun runs perfectly. I also Locktited the barrel hex screw since it wouldn't stay tight.

Gun now is totally reliable so far.

I tried Brownings 22RL ammo and had FTFs every other round. CCI and SK standard run fine. We should have a sticky of all ammo that works/doesnt work reliably.

I will never buy any more Winchester Super X 22lr after today's outing. Very erratic POI and many FTF in the Victory and my heavily modified 10/22. Some of the brass had domed bases after firing. No more for me. Other ammo shot fine in both guns, btw.

My take on the Browning ammo

I have shot the Browning ammo in my Victory, Compact22, and Mark III Target and have not had any issues. I have gone thru over 5 boxes so far. Local gun dealer is now out of stock. :(

No problems with Ammo

I have well over 1000 rounds through mine with several types and brands of Ammo with NO I mean 0 issues! Now that being said two days ago the hold down bolt snapped in half while firing it. The slide fell off and the bolt came out. There was no damage but I am not happy about the bolt braking in half for no reason. S&W sent me a new one already. But why did it break? It was not over tightened and it did not sheer off. It looked to be over hardened. S&W did not seem to be surprised by it?

No issues now with mine and she eats anything I feed her. It has become my favorite 22LR pistol to shoot. I have a Mark III coming this week the competition model and will see what I think then.
