I am away from my references and need some info the Model CS9 that I found online. Not knowledgeable about the model at all. I have Models 39-2 and 3906 and wonder how the CS9 compares.

The SN is EKW 177X. Described as 90+% Matte Black finish, 3 inch barrel, 2 seven round mags, box, lock, paperwork, factory grips. Advertised price is $395 + Shipping.

Any feedback on the price, age, finish, scarcity, quality, etc. of the CS9 is much appreciated.

The CS9 was made from 1998 and I don't know when discontinued. Aluminum frame, single column magazine. The black ones have carbon steel slides and black anodized frames while the stainless ones have stainless steel slides and silver anodized frames. Stainless guns came out about a year after the blued ones did. Similar CS-series guns made in .40 S&W and .45 ACP.

About the only common complaint expressed with them is the oversize, soft rubbery stocks, which are great for shooting but often disliked for concealed carry.

I bought mine, a stainless model, used but like new in 2002, EKW9869 I haven't shot it a lot but so far it has run 100%.

Sounds like a good price you found.

I'm in the market for a CS9, myself. It sounds like that's a pretty good deal compared to the prices I've seen. Nice to have the box, papers and extra magazine. MidwayUSA has mags in stock if you want more than two. From what I've read they have been hard to find in the past. I went ahead and picked up a couple...just in case.

I found one in stainless recently for $450 shipped that I think I'm going to get. According the spreadsheet in the sticky, they were made from '98-'06.

Price sounds decent - owned a 3913 but never the CS9 so can't help on how they shoot but if it is anything like the 3913 you should be pleased. If it was a 3953 instead of the 13 I'd still have it.

I had the C9 but got rid of it. I felt it was to "Blocky" in my hand. The slide had the same contour as my 908S as compared to the 3913 slide. Never had any malfunctions, but it just didn't appeal to me. As other had reported that the grips are kind of bulky as well but as I remember, there is a company named something..... Dog........that makes thin replacement grips.
IMHO; I would just go for any version of the Shield instead.

THANKS!

Your feedback is very helpful , but I am on the fence now about another 9mm. There are seven already in the safe.

I have a blued CS9 and carry it every day. Love it. Big Dog was making grips from 3913 grips but I don't think they make them any more. The grips make a world of difference. I think I paid $350.00 for mine 3-4 years ago.

Price sounds great and the blued version was produced for only a short time I read here. They seem harder to find lately and are often closer to the $500- 550 asking price. Bought a stainless one back in 99 and it does function well with the ammo I have tried.

That is a GREAT price on a nice CS 9!!
I own a CS 9 and love mine. Also own a pristine 3914 and prefer the CS 9.

I believe early versions of the CS9 also had a plastic rear sight but it can be swapped out with traditional Novak style or night sights if desired. I had a stainless version but found it just a bit too short to get a comfortable 3 finger grip and ultimately opted for the 3913. My CS9 was very accurate and reliable with various types of ammo. Probably should have kept it.

Buy it as they are hard to find, around here anyway. I looked for 3 years before I found a NIB CS9. I paid more for mine.

Carry mine every day. Shoots like a dream. Replaced plastic 3 dot with ashley express 24-7 big dot. Glock 19 leather holsters fit well

I have a black one with the EKY serial prefix. Nice little gun.

Anyone know if there is a flat or rounded base plate mag for the CS9? If there is, does anyone have a spare that they would part with? Regards 18DAI

Based on my searches, I have read that 3913 and 3913TSW floorplates will work. The latter are wider and match the shape of the overall grip better.

I agree with jbrentd...
The 3913/908 flat bases will fit... the pic on the right.
The other thing I did was take a belt sander to the curved (original) grips... the pic on the left. They are hollow so you have to be careful how much you take off, and the angle. I went straight up with the base plate upside down. It removes the hook and is much more comfortable... and free!

That is a good price. I had one I bought used (one owner) with three magazines, box, papers, etc. that had dim night sights for $475 in 2010. Like a fool I sold it for 'something better/new'. I sold it for in 2013 for $675. Prices go up and down regularly. I missed it - it is a great shooting little 9mm - and bought another one earlier this year. One owner, like new condition with the original matching box, two magazines and all the paper work for $600. Buy it, you'll like it!

Seems to be enough demand for the CS series today. Another run of the blued version would send buyers scrambling I would think. Would believe the price to be up there though.
